LS1 intake with truck DBW TB
I just scored an LS1 throttle body for a great price. I want to use it in my Chevelle. I have an 03 4.8 with the idler relocator already finished. The waterpump is the next issue. I want to use a 08 or newer truck pump so my accessories still line up but not sure if the waterneck will clear the TB.
Can anyone who has this swap post some pics.

If you have not bought the pump. Just get an LS1 wp and run the wp spacers.

I found a late model waterpump at the local part store for $99. By the time I buy an LS1 pump and the spacers the price will outway the late model pump. The LS2 TB is a 4 bolt and would need adapter, right? Isn't the LS2 intake sqaure port? I'll take some pics tomorrow.

LOL... I just reread my post, duh.... I got an LS1 intake and want to run the truck DBW TB... Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was hoping the truck TB will clear the later truck waterpump on the LS1 intake. Sorry for the wrong info.

The truck DBW will fit fine, way better than the cable for sure. Now an LS2 TB probably will not fit and you have to buy a converter box for the wiring to even work with the truck DBW set up those are $$$!!! For not alot of gain on a 4.8L.

The 07+ one will not fit the LS1 intake as they are 4 bolts vs the earlier ones are 3 bolt.
One could always just get a TB spacer and it will fit then with the truck DBW TB.

Link below.
Note the pre-07 TB look similar, but are larger at the base and wont fit.

How did you get the pulleys off the pump. I've read tons of posts and no one can seem to get them off without destroying them. I would do that and solve a whole lot.

LS1 water pump, you have to cut notches for a 3 jaw puller, then cut axially to get it off.
Truck pump pulleys come off with a 3 jaw puller. And they're pretty much free.
Pressing the truck pulley just requires removing the back cover, supporting the shaft, pressing the pulley on.

Or you could run the L99 WP it has the same spacing just have to cut alt bracket. Use a vette tensioner and different idle pulley (smaller). http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f213/c...ptions-468602/
All be it this may not be the cheapest option! haha

So I took Garys 68 idea and bought an LS1 waterpump today.
I took the clutch fan I wasn't going to use any more and cut the threads off to make a nut. Then I used a bearing puller and a 2 jaw puller.
Then I used a power steering pulley puller to remove the LS1 pulley.
I then used the hydraulic press to put the truck pulley on the LS1 pump. As per gary 68's advice, I took the back off the pump and put a 11mm socket on the back of the pump shaft so I didn't mess up the bearing and seals.
This is what the front of the engine looks like with the LS1 w/truck pulley on the engine.
And the belt lines up perfectly!!!
