well im finally gonna start my build thread. just built an aluminum headed 306 but i just aint happy with it. this will be a slow build due to limited time with college starting up. had been planning on a 5.3 4l80e but i scored a low mileage 02 ls1 with mild ported heads and springs already.
plans for the motor will be.
truck intake (for now)
tsp 233/239 cam
chromoly pushrods
ls7 lifters
ls2 timing chain
mellings high volume pump.
fast fuel rails
36lb injectors
using a tanks inc fuel injected tank
corvette fuel filter/regulator
gonna have the heads ported( not sure who just yet)

gonna keep the 8 inch under the car for now and run a 3.80 or 4.11 gear for now till i do the 9in swap.
i welcome all opinions and advice and critisism

Sweet! I started the engine in my 66 for the first time about a week ago. With my setup the truck intake and accessory bracket would not clear the hood. but I made my own mounts and used an aftermaket front frame. Also the 4l60 is a huge trans I had to do some pounding and carving to my trans tunnel to put it lightly. the build thread is Ugly Betty. let me know if I can help I couldn't have done mine without this site.
