Default Brake Booster Vacuum Line (3/8" booster - 1/2" intake)

My search has come up empty.
The check valve on the booster is for a 3/8" hose. The port on the back of the intake (corvette) looks to be 1/2".
What are people doing?

thanks,
Kevin

I used the complete hose and check valve from the LS1 (99 Z28) and the check valve was able to push into the booster ok.

Try a few other check valve for the correct port on the check valve to fit into the booster.

I picked this up at the Advanced Auto Parts store. It slips over the 3/8" check valve to bring it up to the right size. Or, in other words, sleeves the inside of the 1/2" hose down to the 3/8" size. I ended up gluing it to the inside of the hose with weather strip advesive, and you cant even tell it is there. Been working great for over a year now.

I picked up a 1/2" to 3/8" brass plumbing adapter from the local hardware store. Ran 1/2" line from intake and 3/8" from the booster, solved problem.

I haven't done the booster to intake hose yet...so from reading this thread there is going to be a difference in sizes from the back of the intake nipple to the booster check valve on my stock 71 Camaro?

If so I need to start figuring out a solution I guess

I used an adapter/reducer when I first dropped in the engine. But just today at the JY I saw a pickup that was complete under the hood. I thought, just for grins, I'd grab the hose and check valve in the booster and see if it would work. The truck's check valve fit right into the booster of my Monte. I trimmed the hose and connected everything. Using the bigger hose doesn't enable you to run the filter canister thing but I don't think it does much anyway. I don't know about the car hoses, but the truck ones have a nice bend molded into them that wraps around the intake, clears the firewall and basically points right to the old booster.
