Default Mustang guys...what steering shaft?

I'm using dynatech headers. I bought a unisteer manual rack kit and the steering shaft that comes with it is not gonna fit.

What headers and did you have clearance issues?

did the part of the shaft that slides into the column go freely or did you have to force it?

does the shaft go thru the headers or on the outside of it. There are two different part # depending on fox or sn-95

Agree, just change the bottom U-joint to a Flaming River that fits the rack and the shape of the shaft, i.e clover leaf etc. Then, weld it on. FR1509 is common.

Thanks guys. I'm sending the unisteer stuff back. On my mustang it had the sn95 style headers and we modified the stock shaft. The Fairmont has the fox headers so I couldn't get my head around it. Took the shaft out of the mustang and bingo, it fit.

Yes, that is ok if your using the stock rack, most aftermarket need something different and who wants to use an old rag joint anyway? just sayin
