Has anybody installed a 6L80E (or 90E) in a 1965 Impala?
The main question is.... Was major surgery required on the floorpan?
It looks like the car was originally available with a Big Block/Th400 combo so it makes sense that there might be room for the 6L80.
I've seen side by side comparisons to the 4L80E and aside from being a little thicker here and there it's overall dimensions are not that much larger.

Did a 4L65E with just minor clearance issues.........

I saw your thread in my searches. Nice build.
The 6L80E is quite a bit larger than the 4L60E. Here's a pic of one next to a TH400 to give an idea of it's size.
I'm not worried about it hitting the front of the floorpan hump. It's the rear of the hump where it tapers that I'm thinking it will crash into the thicker 6l80E housing.

I know that it will fit in a 71 Impala with some "adjustments" to the floorpan but that's a much bigger car.
Using hope as a strategy I did check the part numbers on replacement floorpans to see if by chance they were the same from 65 thru 71 but the compatibility stops at 70 when the body changed.
