Holley Mid-Rise in a Chevelle
Anyone ever tried one of the Holley Mid-Rise Rams in a 70-72 Chevelle? I'm wondering mainly about hood clearance. I've read they are about 4" taller than the FAST and about 2.5" taller than a truck intake. Think it will fit?

2.5" taller than a truck intake? No way in hell it will clear a stock chevelle hood. My truck intake was tight by itself. The factory evap sensor on the intake hit the hood. Couldn't run the vortec cover either.
Camaro pan sitting on the front crossmember. Engine was as low as possible.
edit: I think the 2.5" taller is the tall holley intake... looking at their pics the mid rise will fit just fine. my proflo fits under a stock hood.

I'm running the Hi Ram on my malibu, although ours are different years I made clearance under my hood and its taller then the mid ram. Should clear with a cowl hood with some trimming of the front circle on the bottom of the hood. Mine does not touch at all. I think its only 1.25 taller then the truck intake if I remember correctly, I ran the truck intake during break in and while I was collecting my injector and braided lines, etc. Looks awsome with the hood opened.
