ford f series 1980-1996 lsx swap Anyone???
I recently inherited a 1980 ford f100 2wd from my grandfather and for sentimental reasons I obviously dont want to sell it.
Im wanting to do a 4.8 or 5.3 swap with 4l60e or if I find a 6.0 and 4l80e ill do that..
Either way im looking for any info on oil pan fitment, motor mounts, exhaust... ect ect
if anyone has any information on a swap like this that would be awesome.
The main things I need would be mounts and headers, most of the other stuff I could fab up.

I think it's going to come down to trial and error, but I think there is plenty of room to do it, it's just a matter time and money, right?

yea im starting to figure that out.... Ford truck owners are very loyal to there brand so now I HAVE TO DO IT lol...
I love the truck just hate the low HP the 302 has and even if I built the engine up to stock 5.3 hp output I would still be left with the horrible AOD or a 3 speed auto witch is no good
I was just hoping there may be some stuff to at least get it mounted in the truck, Ive got a buddy thats a welder so maybe he could help me out with that.

Ford truck fans are loyal but it's been done. Best build with your generation of F150 was at a ford truck site. I'll continue looking. I've been driving my 1998 F150 with a 5.3/T56 swap for about 8 months now. Now I'm building a high compression iron 5.7 (5.3 bored to stock LS1) for propane.
This guy built one for the generation of F150 just before yours. Bet you could get some ideas....

I saw that build but the main things im concerned about his truck doesnt have.
The TTB front suspension
And the frame
Ive also been thinking in my head I might could just find a complete wrecked silverado that the frame is still good on and just swap my body over too it, I almost think that would be easier lol. I would then have a updated suspension an braking system.
