Didn't want the wast gate exhaust exiting into atmosphere so I exhausted it back into the downpipe. I went to the wreckers and found these accordion flex joints on a Grand Am I believe , cheap!

;

Believe it or not the downpipe slips in and out easily.

Also found out that when grinding on the hotside flange I used the gasket supplied to me by Race Parts solutions, when putting that gasket on the turbo the turbo ports were waay too small, needless to say I had to port match the exhaust housing so the hotside exhaust wasn't hitting a dead end.

Got the good motor in and in this pic I coated all the hot side with vht manifold paint , supposedly good for 2500 degrees. If I were to do it again, I woulda left it al natural.

For running my MSD under the dash I had to put a hole in the firewall. Found a trailer light grommet that was could do the job but required a 3 inch hole.

Excuse the mess

Polished the valve covers........total waste of time you cant see them anyways! I've Read all these pages of trying to get crankcase pressure out of the motor so I decided to drill and tap the covers for fittings. People I know have had issues welding on these covers so this is the route I took. The drivers side one was fitted with a dash 10 braided line and the passenger side with a dash 8 line . Also went to the down pipe and weld on a pan o vac system. To add to all of that I hole sawed the oil filler cap and installed a grommet and filter on there too.

Cold side fitted , welded , knock off blow off valve installed also.

I have since shortened the hose to pull it away from the coldside tub and have a 1/8 of an inch bettween the tube and rad.

Fuel system done, Aeromotive boost referenced regulator mounted on the fender. I drilled the regulator out and tapped it for a 1/4 inch bolt. Got a small gauge to set base pressure with screwed in there also.

Ran 1/2 inch line up to the regulator and 5/8 back to the fuel cell. as far as pump I used a Magnafuel 500 pump with a Summit dash 10 filter

From the regulator I ran -8 braided up to the carb.
Also added a turbo blanket from FTC

As far as fuel cell , used a 10 gallon, mounted it fully in the trunk so nothing was showing underneath , also picked up a new Optima battery to replace the 9 year old one I had in the car.

The rear end, its the factory diff that came with the car. Its had the tubes welded, Moser c clip eliminator, Superior 12 bolt 30 spline axles, 30 spline Strange spool. It had 4.88 gears , we have now installed motive 3.42 gears. Notice my one 4 inch dump at the diff ?

I am actually in the processes of doing the same thing for my 78 camaro, LY6 with s475 turbo, motor parts coming this week! Would you mind sharing where you got your turbo and all the piping and flanges needed? Was the cross member notch needed from using the lower engine mounts?
