The turbo came from Forced Inductions, and while your at it get the compressor outlet flange, v band for that flange, reducer for the down pipe if your gonna reduce for 4 inch and that clamp as well. save a lot of hassle. Other then that, all my 2 1/4 v bands and clamps came off eBay. Flex joint is a vibrant, some of my bends cam from a local shop, some off eBay as well. T6 mounting flange also came from EBAY.
As far as the notch I wanted the motor low to gain clearance for the hat under the hood. With the front of the f body pan about 1/4 above the cross member I have approximately 3/4 of an inch to the bottom of my 4 inch cowl.
Rindoze what motor parts are you getting?

Thanks! Right now I have ordered a rocker trunion upgrade kit, lifters, a custom VVT turbo cam, PAC 1218 valve springs, LS9 head gaskets, and head studs. Still need to get injectors, an oil pan, and pushrods (once I measure them) and probably will get new valve seals. Once I get in the motor to gap the rings I can check if I should throw in some new bearings too.

Cool car, great build on a real world budget and awesome results! Are you pretty happy with the mid 10s or are you going to lean on her harder? Thanks for sharing the build!

Thanks Cruisin , ya I'm fairly happy. The car has been turn the key and go, no motor leaks , nothing. I do have to do some tough ups on fitment of the hot side pipes but other then that , after talking LIL Johns about my cam , he's put my mind at ease about the use of it . He's a great guy , no non sense , tell you how it is, I appreciated his honesty. I will b getting him to custom grind a cam for me down the line.
I'm sure the car still has a 10;30 in it on pump gas on ten pounds but in early sept will b heading back to the track with a re jetted carb , new map and 15 pounds to start with in hope of the nines. I am prepared to run up to 18 pounds to see what will happen as long as the tires hold it.

Well the end to another summer. Went back to the track with more boost , ( 15 pounds)and had fuel issues so didnt get much faster but ended up with a 10;42 at close to 132 with the car babbling for a half track . Motor is out for inspection, turbo is sold. We've been in contact with Lil Johns and have a s480 coming for next year.

Any info/thoughts about getting the tune setup imagine the spark came pretty easy. How was getting the a/f dialed in? From my reading the hanger method seems easily the best way to begin with blow thru. Hows gas mileage?

Looks good. What fuel pump are you running?
What are you doing with the s475?

I was in Regina in early october and was gonna message you. I was working at the airport and stayed at the Days Inn by the new Cabelas.
I also have an 80 Z28 with a 5.3 and GT45 turbo. Getting a few things finalized before driving it.
Is there a track near you?
If so, i am likely going back for work next year and if the car feels good and reliable i wouldnt mind driving it out there. Who knows though.
Surpised i missed all the pics of this build. Car looks good.
DId you find that muffler made a big difference?

Hey Tanus , the timing setup was probably the easiest part. I was actually dreading it and in all honesty 3 Pedals gave me the baseline that I worked on. The carb, I started with the hanger 18 mod, did make changes vent tube wise, and needle and seat wise but overall got the afr's at a good 11.2 at 10 pounds at the track but around the 13 mark cruising around the street. Gas mileage wise waay better then my sbc or bbc , actually surprising.
SSZ I am running a magnafuel 500, love that pump, came out of Russ Flamans chevelle. As far as the s475 it sold right away. Track wise I visit Yorkton, Swift Current and also visit Saskatoon. The muffler did make a noticeable difference but I am adding another one to have it whisper quiet for my drives to work lol. Where are you from ?

I am from Caledonia Ontario. Just outside Hamilton, home of the Ticats. I am sure you are familiar with them. LOL.
I was thinking of doing at least one bullet muffler. I like having the chop with a cam but on the other hand i like it quiet so others get duped if you know what i mean.
How long does it take to get to the closest track?
WHen i was done the job in Regina i had to drive the service truck up into Edmonton. Stopped in Saskatoon for a bite. Thats a drive for the track.

What are your plans for the car this winter?

Ya , all tracks r at least two hours away from here but its all we have.
Umm next year Lil John has recommended advancing my cam, I've also ordered a s 480 from him, putting the Willwood billit hub , rotor and 4 piston calipers in the front. Goin to a slider system on the rear leafs in hopes of helping the car weight transfer, adding a muffler to the present system. Got rid of the turbo 350 and goin glide also.

Well been having issues fueling the car this year but that being said on the weekend got a new personal besy with the car. it went a 10.0@137 . Tried the 15 pound gate springs but power was just too much and could not get it to the ground. So this pass was with a manual two stage controller at relatively lower boost. Heres a pass against a local procharged 540 hemi duster that was having issues also that day.
