Default late 60's c10 on a 2001 tahoe frame

ok...its ben a year or so since I have ben on here. but in that time I have ben driving a 2001 chevy Tahoe. and im tired of it and it isn't worth crap on trade in. plus I need a pick up truck.
so that got me to thinking ...im just going to get a late 60's early 70's chevy c10 and put the cab and bed on the Tahoe rolling chassis ! wheel base is within 1 or 2 inches.
is or has anyone don this yet . I need pros and cons

Don't forget about the track width, that Tahoe is likely wider than the older trucks, but if the wheelbase and track are close and you wanna go for the lifted 4x4 look-go for it!

Might work, but yeah the track is going to be something to watch. Most people that put an updated frame on the old trucks use S10 frames, but do some measurements, it might work.

I've seen a '72 swb put on a 99-06 Silverado frame, and it looked like it fit pretty good. It was a 2wd though. I wouldn't think a Tahoe frame would be that much different for a swap though. The rear trailing arm suspension shouldnt make it any more or less difficult.

I have looked into this (dropping a less-than-perfect swb '69-72 onto an AWD or 4x4 Yukon chassis as a unique winter driver) on and off over the last several years. The tahoe/burb is a much better option than a similar year truck b/c of less step in the frame. However, GM's modular front cradle design makes shortening the wheelbase very easy, so either chassis is very doable.

A local guy dropped a '71 long bed Cheyenne on a shortened D-Max frame. It turned out really well.
