Default LQ4 Swap Oil Dipstick Question

Swapping an LQ4 into my 73 corvette. I am using the F-body pan to replace the LQ4 pan.

Are these the correct parts to use:
Dip stick:
12551581
Dip stick tube:
12551577

Thanks.

Never understood why anyone would buy another dipstick for a swap. Unless the top of the tube is too tall, just trim the dipstick if needed so it doesn't rub the bottom of the pan. Put the right amount of oil in the pan for what its supposed to hold and mark the dipstick yourself. Really easy to do. Unless there's a baffle in the way which there shouldn't be.

you can do that to but some people want everything that goes together for convenience.

Yea, I just try to reuse everything if possible. If it works why spend extra money? The only difference that would be seen is the tip or marks on the stick. I just like to save where I can.

That's a viable plan Taxman. A new tube and dipstick from a place like Summit is only around $25.

I don't have enough experience with an LS1 block and an LQ4 block to know if the location of the hole in the block for the dipstick tube is different and whether the dipstick/tube for an LS1 F-body give the correct indications in an LQ4 with an F-body pan.

If it doesn't fit exactly like a stock LS1, then I might as well go with your plan on trimming the LQ4 dipstick and make new level marks.

It should be fine with a trim and remark. I like to save cash when I can.
