Best way to clean the inside of the engine?
I would like to clean up my engine as much as possible before assembly just to make sure there's no dirty trapped anywhere. Most of the engine components are still on, the only the heads and the oil pan are off. Should I just reassemble it and flush the oil and coolant a few times?

Used, rebuilding or new?
If used just install engine on engine stand and use cleaner with bristle brush.
If rebuilding the parts should have been cleaned before you start putting it together.
If new then cleaning with paint thinner should work.
If you try to clean by running the engine then you are too late and time to rebuild, again.
If used just install engine on engine stand and use cleaner with bristle brush.
If rebuilding the parts should have been cleaned before you start putting it together.

If you try to clean by running the engine then you are too late and time to rebuild, again.
