Here's some interesting discussion on Crown Vic vs. Jag IFS, too.

And another discussion on narrowing the Crown Vic cross member. I just did a quick scan but I think he kept the stock rack with relocated mounting tabs and shortened tie rod ends.

I like the idea of the mustang II stuff but they are pricey.

I glances over the articles you linked and will read them when I get home. Thanks for checking that out for me!

Also ordered all new floor pans and inner and outer rockers. Almost $500 I didn't plan on spending but it needs done.

Sweet build! I look forward to seeing this done.

10 years ago I built a '57 Belvedere with an LS engine. Used a mustang 2 front clip. At the time a company called Retrotek made an electronic push button shifter- I used that in mine so I could retain push button shifting. Drove it to Tulsa in '07 to see the unearthing of the buried Bevedere, too.

Below is a link to the build (check the first ten pages or so- the other 50 are of my current project) for any pointers of what to do, or not to do.

Hope this helps

Sounds good.

I might have made some progress on my front suspension, I have been researching narrowing the crown vic subframe. I have found a way to narrow it and keep the geometry correct I do believe, by swapping to a different rack and pinion.

Also, I ordered a 20 circuit wiring harness with fuse box and all the goodies to completely rewire the wagon. For not getting much accomplished on the car I sure am spending a lot of cash!

Got home this morning and had my floor pans and inner and outer rocker panels sitting at my door step, so I had to open the boxes and check them out. They seem to be of decent quality.

At my house if it didn't come with an LS in it there are probably plans to put one in it.

Honestly I'm not positive on the placement yet, I still haven't taken the old engine out yet.

Such a cool project! And that is a steal from the junk yard, the local LKQ by me is ridiculously high on their parts.
