AIM Strada, what ecu/pcm to use?
I am mapping out an LS swap into a 240sx and as much reading as I've done on this forum prior to posting I can't quite seem to get an answer to my question.
How does one get an AIM dash to work in an LS swapped vehicle?
It seems that the AIM units will work with any ecu that has CAN bus, but from what it seems in my reading the only GM ecus with that are for the newer motors, which have DBW and the 58x reluctor wheel. Which poses a problem for me because my plan was to use an L33 motor which I believe was DBC and had the 24x reluctor wheel.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on my dilemma, and I look forward to getting this project going and adding a build thread once that happens.

Looking at the list of supported ecu's for the strada, the only gm controller that is supported is the mefi 4b.
The Mefi 4b uses the can buss ( J-1939).

In this thead here it mentions that any ls2+ ecu will work.

Would one then assume that anything post 05 model year would work?
I have seen pictures of these setup in 240 swaps before, but what ecus they use, whether its a gm ecu or aftermarket standalone, I can't ever seem to find.

Ok. So my dilemma here then is this.
The motor I plan to use is an L33, which is as gen3 motor and from what Ive read will be a 24x reluctor wheel.
So, all of the gen4 ecus are to be used with a 58x reluctor wheel from what I've gathered no? Can you swap some bits over and make a gen4 ecu work with a gen3 motor? Or at this point does this become such a massive PITA that a standalone ecu option would end up being a better path to take.

the more research i do it seems that the e40 ecu is a bit tougher to come by. if starting with an L33 motor, would it be a stupid idea to get an e67 PCM and just convert the L33 24x bits over to 58x in order to use the newer PCM?
