Default 2012 4l65e trans install

Well I am new to the ls1 site and looking for some direction. I picked up a 5.3 from a 2008 Avalanche that I will be installing in a 66 C10 and I need to find a trans. I have located a 2012 4l65e from escalade all wheel drive. I know I will need to change the output shaft and tail housing what other problems am I going to have. Thanks Kenny

For purposes of making it easy on a wiring harness grab a 4L60 or 4L70 that predates 2008 so you don't have the 17 pin wiring in the transmission.

I would stay away from all wheel drive transmissions in a two wheel drive situation. To change the tail housing is a simple six bolt swap. To change the output shaft requires a complete tear down of the transmission plus the physical parts. If you budgeted for this, keep rolling but I'm willing to bet that additional cost makes the AWD transmission a lot less of a good deal.
