part number when i looked it up showed that its the correct manifold for my LS6 Z06 motor. i guess # is different if its not for a vette. anyway i said i wasnt going to buy one, kinda an impulse buy i guess. seen it, wasnt a bad deal, bought it. whatever.
LS6 manifold
LS6/30lbs injectors (or maybe 50lbs Delphi's)
return style fuel rail
cable throttle body that i forgot to run numbers on
all the hardware/bolts and a MAP sensor

poor update i know. been seriously unmotivated lately. really do need to get work done before it gets hot out. i did so some cleaning and organizing of the mess starting in the garage. try to keep it less cluttered out there...

my back hurts, but wanted to put in some work... actually now that i write this, it feels better. probably because i have been standing and its not tweeked from sitting...

and honestly i have been discouraged with certain aspects of this project, and have been working on my Galant. it actually runs and the Nova isnt going to be close for a while it seems. so been fixing **** on that. got some fancy parts coming lol.

anyway.

cleaned the inside of the block a bunch more. starting putting her together.

honestly i dont know much of anything about this cam. lol. i did a quick search and found some numbers, sent them to a buddy, he said it would work. lol. it was free. so whatever.
it was installed in this LS6 before. dont remember if he said it was on the NA or supercharged setup.

oh, and i bought this:

was $60 shipped. not bad i guess. still need to figure out (and find) a power steering pump/bracket/etc, and go to junkyard to grab an alternator. i think i can use a 4.3L alt?

stay tuned, there might be more progress...might lol.

filed/gapped the rings. upper to .60mm and lower to .65mm. like .023/.025"... most all my tools are metric.

rods/mains are whatever they are. i dont check them. engine spins = win. :-*

all these parts seem to have been cleaned, then put away halfass. they all are dusty/dirty. thankfully most of them are rust free. makes cleanup quicker. but most this crap took lots of brake cleaner, water, towels, etc to get ready for assembly.

so, lots of cleaning and filing of rings. over that ****.

need to order:
3 head bolts (have new set, just missing 3 for some reason)
2 headgaskets
front cover gasket? mine seems to be missing, swore i had one. maybe gave it away with LS1?
crank pulley bolt
torrington upgrade (needleless/bushing style)
water pump gaskets
plastic oil passage plug thing i broke.

GM Performance LS1/6 headgaskets, couple headbolts i was missing to make a set (motor came with most of a new set), and oil passage plug i buggered up. also not pictured is the sprag for the trans, just OE style replacement, no fancy 34 sprag whatever thing. $13shipped off ebay lol.

and a little win before the weekend

not sure you can tell but the clip is in, and holding that **** down! abvouisly i got the new sprag in there, and hopefully the trans is together the right way so i dont have to pull it back out and try again. lol.

thats it for now. ill probably finish engine/trans work sunday/monday when im off.

threw the intake on to feel like more of a win. still need to clean the valve covers out really good, and put the pushrods/rockers in on the right side.

steam port tube
knock sensors w/wires

went to the junkyard this morning. lots of win, and fail...

Name: IMG_20160531_125247_zpsmsemixcc.jpg

so, lets see what we have:
-complete, uncut, was just sitting lonely in the engine bay of 2000 Silverado 5.3... and was the ONLY thing really still there worth a damn.
-throttle cable from the silverado. think it should work.
-throttle pedal from S10 Blazer. think i remembered denmah/Matt saying he used one on something and it was easy enough
-relay box from round body Taurus
-air temp sensor w/pigtail off Blazer
-turn signal plug off the Silverado (to maybe replace my burnt one in my Silverado, if i ever get around to it)
-alternator plug, and ~12" of battery lead off that.

total: $48.97 plus like $6 back if i can find the junk Galant alternator to return for core.

phone says i walked 1.21miles. damn.

the fail:
still no power steering pump
didnt look to hard for electric fan

that alternator is from a 2000 S10 Blazer 4.3L... and as you can see it fits 100% perfect. good plug location. uses all bolts, hell even uses the extra bracket on the back (i had it, so why not). its a 100amp alternator (vs the 102 of Camaro), and this one tested mint at 14.69v at autoparts store. and they are all over the junkyard. S10/Astro/Blazer 99-01 it looks like are same.
there you go. solid TECH/INFO. i swore i seen someone say they used one, and in lots of searching i seen one guy with one mounted.

relay box. again, seen someone on ls1tech talking about these. should work great for fan/pump/ign in my new harness.

forgot these the other night.

i heated this up and gave it a 180* turn so its not pointing at what is hopefully the spot for a turbo.

speaking of turbo

im just gonna put these right here... these are some Delphi 50lbs injectors that where in a box that came with my motor crap.

little test fit of all the accessories. i still need a timing cover gasket before i torque all this down final.

so thats it for now. OH.. i need an ECU (red/blue plug) for a 2000 Silverado now, obviously.

modulator bracket i got at the JY, cleaned up, installed mod. then took back off and lost the ****** bracket. awesome. anyway these seem to be difficult to find for some reason?

more room now... but i pulled the column to make mods to it so it will work with aftermarket/mustang front end stuff. but sure will help not having it there to fab up a gas pedal.

oh, thats cool. steering wheel with cracks in it. along with the horn ring thats broken, this wont be going back in either.

found this when i pulled the stock gas pedal. after vacuuming, and poking it with a screw driver. anyway. ill throw some sound deadner over this soon, and the problem will be solved.

looks like im out of pictures.

ordered a couple parts that wont help the big picture, think i came up with a fueling solution. still have 3-10k in parts to order/fab/install, so stay tuned!

i keep seeing your calypso green? mustang in your avatar/sig and think what life would have been like if that mustang i looked at had not been a **** *** respray... actually, probably much the same but an LSX mustang instead of a Nova lol.
you have a build somewhere around here for that? dont think i have seen it.

yup you are right it is calypso... yeah it is very easy lol. it took me about 3 months I believe to find this car and drove 12 hours each way to get it lol I wanted nothing short of almost perfect lol.
this is my build thread here on ls1tech

yeah, well my budget was less than perfect, and still is. i probably would have settled for a fading OEM paint, but chipping around the corners? nope.

my Nova has been resprayed, and even though the kid called it a maaco spray, it is pretty decent. at the very least someone pulled the moldings and prepped the car. it does have some over spray that im going to eliminate. but for what i got the car for, i dont even come close to caring lol.

so i just clicked the link, remembered seeing #racestatus just hadnt looked at it yet, and see a ITR'ed out racecar lol...

one of my old cars:

anyway, looks good so far. ill keep looking when i have time.
