Not much of an update because all I've been doing is wiring....... but, here's a few pics just because. I drilled a hole in the car here to be able to put the plug for the O2 sensor in it, worked out nice but don't have a pic of that part of the harness clipped in the hole.

Needed to make sure the O2's were going to reach the harness so I threw the down pipes/converters on to see. I'm pretty sure I could actually run these 5th gen Camaro cats if I wanted! This is the kind of thing that if I wanted it to work, it never would, but since I don't care, they fit....

Cut the little plastic wire retainer things on the injectors down so they're not so big.

Got the injector harness loomed. Actually most of the harness is loomed in this pic.

Is that the factory color? Reason I ask is it looks, at least on the computer screen, really close to my '63 (white over green) Rambler American, which was repainted in a 1996 Land Rover color...

The outside of the car has the original paint on it, I just repainted the firewall the same color. It's the factory Aspen green they had in 1959.

I took a short break from the wiring to try and get the fuel rail finished up, Started by stripping the blue and red anodizing off the two fuel fittings between the line and the rails. EasyOff is the only thing that i know of that will take it off.

With the anodizing stripped i just polished them a bit. They need a little better polishing, and will probably fade since they are not really protected anymore, but still think they look better.

Then I needed a place to be able to check fuel pressure so I took a fitting off of an old TPI I have and drilled the fuel rail fitting for it and tapped it.

Installed the fitting. I think i may have drilled it at a slight angle, but think the gasket on it will seal it. I'll have to keep an eye on it and if it leaks I'll have to get another fitting.

Good Morning LS1nova71. I hope all is well. if possible, can you show more pics of your throttle body thingy? I'm trying to duplicate that same thing. i first saw that idea posted on 67-72. Also can you shed some light on the bcm, what is it used for, how its usued in conjunction with the pcm, and maybe even a wiring diagram. I know I'm asking a lot, but help a brotha out. My inquiring mind wants to know more information. Thanks in advance, Clark.

You could probably clear anodize those at home if you wanted. Bucket, battery charger, and some easy to find chemicals. With no dye I believe clear is what you'll get!

Yep, that's where I saw it too. You'll notice that nowhere in this thread have I taken credit for the idea, so mine is an exact copy of his. You really only need a 1/2" thick piece of aluminum to make it out of, and then need a way to cut it out. It could be done with a drill and a die grinder/cut off wheel, but it would take some time, so I had a buddy make mine.

As for the BCM, it's just one of those things I only do on my own cars because its a lot of wiring and no one ever sees it or even knows its there, so it definitely doesn't make you stand out at the local car cruise. But it does do a lot of stuff. For starters it is part of what controls the automatic headlights, and I'm like super important and don't have time to be turning on all kinds of headlight switches. It also controls the Retained Accessory Power which is what makes the radio stay on until you open a door after the car has been shut off, it controls the dome light delay too. There is also the door locks and remote that I was going to put on this car, but for time constraints I have decided not to do. Oh, and I cant forget, it also controls the turn signal chime in case you leave the turn signal on for just over half a mile, it chimes so you realize it. You don't ever want to be that guy driving around the world to the left....

The schematic for all the systems is like 10 pages long, and kind of hard to navigate. I don't have them saved in a picture form that I can post though.

Not to hijack this great thread, but here is a similar adapter for the throttle body...kinda pricey...

That is a really nice piece! I like the way it uses the original throttle body gasket. But, unfortunately, my pockets aren't that deep. To me that's kind of the $300 solution to a $50 problem, and if I did that every time I had a problem, well, the car would end up costing more than my house!

A simple plate with a hole will work. Mast sells the adaptor ring to go from TB opening to conventional air filter base.

Some parts have showed up. Got some MLS exhaust manifold gaskets and a set of bolts from Amazon for the same price the auto parts store by my house wanted for just the crappy kind of gaskets.

Never in my life have I bought a set of 'cut to fit' spark plug wires, and I never thought I would. First time for everything I guess.

This is the ambient light sensor for the headlights, it's mounted in the dash speaker grill.

I used to use Photobucket exclusively, but the UI has gotten so horrible it's unusable. Been looking for alternatives myself.

I'm told Imgur.com is supposed to be a lot better. Think I'm going to give it a try.

I've been using Imgur for a while.. no upload size restrictions or quantity limits that I know of, you can have loads of pics in different albums, unlimited views, hotlinking allowed, impressively short URL's.. and it's free!

I bought the same exhaust gasket set through Advance Auto. $11 to my door.
I did cut-to-fit plug wires on my current small block. They've now been in three different cars with that motor. lol
I had to stop using PB. I load straight to the forums now. I have too many DIY type pics over on the Tundra forum to have links breaking. I hate finding an awesome thread only to see that the user or image host site screwed up the URL and the pics no longer appear.
And what the heck is with our weather here lately??? It's snowing. I wanna go outside and work on stuff!

socal57chevy, I host them on my own domain so I have control over them for the same reason.

The weather here sucks lately!!! WTF! I have a bit of work I need to do that requires some room and I need to move a car out to move things around enough to replace part of the panels I need to replace. Maybe I need to buy a vacant warehouse and live there! Hahaha

My wife keeps trying to get me to buy that old Shamrock station on the corner of Noland & 23rd across from Cottman's for the same reason! It comes with a couple houses to live in. Hahahaha
Maybe I need to find a partner go in with me on it.
