Default Outlaw 996 Porsche build

Well after 3 years of asking about this car I finally bought it. This car had a IMS failure at 41k miles and was sold. The new owner replaced it and had the engine running again till a missed down shift over rev broke the chain and bent the valves.
Well after another 1.5 years he gave in and sold it to me....
2003 911, Lapis blue, 6 speed

I picked up a 09 LS2 that was removed for a lifter tap....

LS2 new LS3 cam and lifters ready to go

More to come

Cut the hole in the firewall for better access.

Used my small spot welder to put a flange on the piece I removed for a easy to remove panel.

Here it is re-insalled

You have to get the rest of the sound deadening/ Insulation off the fire wall. Otherwise the intake will not clear. It is so tight with out it in place. It is a pain in the butt to remove all the glue, lots of thinner and elbow grease!!!!

I will check it out when I do my next mock up, it it so thin I didnt think it would interfere. A pinstripe eraser works good on the glue.

My Spec stage 1 showed up today so it wont be to long.

First mockup fitting, looking good.

Fits up nice, may need to remove the insulation up top.

Will need some extra trimming by the alt to get good clearance.

See I was not bs's you about having to remove the upper insulation. I also ran after market fuel rails to get clearance. I had to do some extra trimming to get my ac compressor to clear and be able to remove the mounting bolts.

Default Insulation

With the aftermarket fuel rails did you still have to remove the insulation?

4lux ,never doubted you a bit. I think the fuel rail crossover being 1/2" over the intake causes more interferance.

Not much done today but i did get my heater hose adapters made...

Got the trans mounts modified ,took a lot longer than I had hoped working on the floor!

Also got the front mounts cut out and drilled enough to hold the engine up witout the jack!! YAY!!!!!

Plenty of clearance for the intake hose and the stock
Latch will still work.

Sorry for the dark cell pic ,Last shot jack down....
