1) '91 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ80) named the Catamaran
Came with an I6 4.0 (like a Jeep Wrangler)
2) LS2 (LH6); 4L60e; marks4wd adapter; factory FJ80 all wheel drive HF2A center Diff
Should make this pig move a lil better down the highway, maybe I'll be able to pass someone on the highway now...

Hey folks. My project is a 2004 Chevy Colorado Sport LS. Just recently swapped in a 5.3L from a 2003 Avalanche. I've added the intake, cam, and valve springs from a 2002 C5 Vette. Transmission is an up-graded 4L60E, with all new internals and a TruTech Stage II reprogramming kit. Working out a few little bugs, but it sure is a lot more fun to drive now! Here's a link to my build thread on 355 Nation... http://www.355nation.net/forum/engin...-zq8-5-3l.html

I have a 1999 BMW 528i wagon with an LS3 from a 2010 Camaro SS. It has a GMPP Hot Cam and upgraded valve springs. It runs through an F-body T56 with a GTO tailhousing. Still working on my build thread over on bimmerforums.com.

I've been enjoying the LS conversion in my truck now that it is finally complete. 53 chevy pickup - used a 5.3L LM7 and kept stock internals and stock heads with the exception of springs and EPS cam (216/224). Wanted some of the benefits of injectors but still wanted to keep a more traditional look under the hood because of the theme of the build, so used an edelbrock carb intake with a FAST ez EFI throttle body. Uses one-off headers and a mostly-stock set of LS1 camaro front drive brackets and accessories.
Fires up easy every time, drives great, and gets good mileage! Didn't want to put anything wild under the hood, and this fits the bill nicely. Enough power to put a smile on your face, but not going to win any performance awards. Hoping to get decades of enjoyment out of this engine. I really appreciate all the great info I was able to get here at the forums while I was planning this build!

I've got a 64 nova that I'm putting a 1998 LS1/auto. Going to put headers,AC and swap over to power steering when it goes in. Debating on putting a mild cam and convertor in. If I can stay close to my budget anyway.

Just finished putting a brand new LS327 that I scored into my 65 Olds Cutlass. Took a Holley Terminator off my Olds engine and swapped it onto my LS with a Holley dual plane intake. Not as pretty as most on here but it works... 60 miles on her so far and even though its still learning the tune it runs amazing.
Took lots of pictures of the build which I will post if I can figure out how to do that... You can never have enough info as I found out and I got a lot of help from others on this forum which was greatly appreciated.
The Olds 455... got tired of new technology on an old engine
Now that's better

Porsche 911 (996) LS3 525 swap
I bought this car with intentions to drive for a while but the second day I had it the motor decided to die. Then I thought V8 conversion, bought a used LS1 but was unsure about it. Decided to go all in and get a new crate engine. The swap was not terribly bad but getting the bugs out has been a nightmare. I've spent the last 8 months trying to get it to run cool. I'm running out of ideas, need help please.

1996 RCSB s10
LS1
243 heads (untouched)
TSP MS3
Victor Jr/4150 TB
42lb injectors
Trunion upgraded stock rockers
LS7 lifters
1 3/4 long tubes with dual 3"
Built 4l60/Yank ss4000
Ford 8.8, 31 spline, carbon fiber clutches, disk brakes
Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve
Jegs radiator with intrepid fans
B&M stealth pro ratchet shifter
Home built cal-trac bars
relocated Camaro plastic gas tank with racetronix pump and hotwire kit
No track times yet as I'm still needing a final tune after getting it running and driving. Has some weight reduction and should be around 2900 without driver.

1969 Buick Skylark LS1
1969 Buick Skylark Custom 350-4
Sold new in Sweden on April 17th 1969. V8, Positraction, TH350, power steering and power brakes were options included in the bulk ordered by the import company.
-LS1 2000 (Corvette) reprogrammed for a manual/analog trans vehicle. Already done when purchased
-Corvette style accessories and brackets
-No ac
-TH350 with B&M stage 1 shift kit
-Stock driveshaft thanks to stock location adaptor plates
-Moroso 20140 oil pan (modified in the front end because of the steering)
-Trans Dapt 4572 motor mount plates. Holes didn't line up with LS block... Had to be re-drilled. Haven't used them anyway because of the one inch forward motor position.
-Switched to: LSX Innovations aluminum engine mount adapters with varied location. (stock chosen)
-Trans Dapt SBC Motor mounts
-Chevy framestands (SBC/BBC, not 307)
-Hooker Headers 2289 A-body LS swap (slightly reangled collector, too close to floor, had to be pounded on to allow brake adjuster on frame)
-Biltema V-flange 2.5"
-Flowmaster complete A-body-system, series 40 mufflers
-Speedway Motors BOP-chevy trans adaptor plate (modified)
-Speedway Motors 100 dollar LS-to-old trans flexplate (re-drilled to fit stock TH350 converter)
-Speedway Motors crank hub extenstion for converter
-Tanks Inc EFI retrofit fuelpump PS-4 (in tank filter does not fit strangely enough together with the sump tray...)
-Tanks Inc LS fuel line kit (this is THE kit, awesome. But donīt forget thread sealant. NPT is rubbish on fuel lines...)
-JGC steering box works excellent with the Corvette style Type II power steering pump. Assistance is spot on, not to light for high speed cornering but still comfortable at parking. No need to alter system pressure or anything here!
-Power steering hose (high pressure side) is stock Corvette. Steel pipe section was modified to clear pump pulley.
-Stock steering reservoir was missing, universal ZF is used (out of a Porsche 944).
-Corona Beer bottle as windshield washer reservoir...
-Stock buick 350 upper radiator hose
-Bottom hose is a mish-mash of what I found in my assortment of scrapped hoses
-Dual Nissan Primera 1995 fans with shrouds
-Universal GM style aluminum radiator, cheap model
-Steam line routed to heater hose
Bugs that need to be resolved:
-Fuel pump whines and sloshes louder than exhaust
-Stock spark plug wires don't fit nicely with headers at two places, 45 degree boots needed.
-Crank position sensor problem (revs to 3800 then dies)
-Lifters need replacement, probably chain also
-Piston slap is massive, I may be in the market for a healthier shortblock
-Find a more discrete vacuum hose for brake booster.
-LS motor runs cool and engine bay is very roomy. Yet I haven't needed the fans (swedish climate is cool), but the fan control is yet unresolved.
-Alternator and bracket needs to be painted black for a sleeker look
Lessons learned:
Remote oil filter is expensive and challenging to place and route with a result easy on the eye. Not recommended. I made a bracket that mounts on top of the steering idler link. Moroso 20140 oil pan mandates this. Pan is also a bad fit on A-bodys in general, hangs 1/4 inch below front crossmember also. IMPORTANT: beacuse of the massive sump the engine and trans cannot be lifted in/out as a unit with oil pan in place. This was a huge setback.
