Default tranny yoke, driveshaft

I put 2001 LS1/T56 in 67 Camaro and the tranny slip yoke came with the tranny does not want to go in. It only goes like 2" and looks like should be in another 1.5 or 2". It goes in fine and then no more. What might be the problem. And what you guys did with your convertions as far as the drive shaft goes. I'm triyng to stay low budget here if you guys have any idea.
Allso I like to change the fluid but looks like it will be hard can I fill it from the top by the shifter?
Thanks

Did you look inside of your yoke first before you push it in to ensure that something isn't inside of it? Is it the stock T56 yoke (you can tell by the large ring it has after the u-joint)?

And yes, you can add fluid through the shifter cover if it is taken off.

John, There is nothing inside the yoke. The guy I had the motor/tranny send it to me, it is 27 spline. Could that be for another tranny even thou it is 27 spline?

Can you post a pic of your yoke?
