Default Damn those nipples!

how do these F%&$#@* heater core nipples on the water pump come off?!? I figured they would slip out with alittle heat but they aren't budging.

Also, where did you guys find (90deg or 45deg) 3/4'' and 5/8'' nipples to replace the factory ones.

The factory ones are pointing right at the upper A-Arm mount, like other people have experienced.

'Search' was little help.

Thanks for the help

OH YEAH! Nipples of steel.
If you have no desire to save the nipples you could try this. Very carefully take a hacksaw blade and cut through the nipple from the inside. Be carefull not to cut into the pump casting. After you have cut through the nipple it should be easy to collapse and pull out.
I'm guessing you are threading the pump for AN fittings?

if you plan on threading them, just whack the steel ones with a hammer back and forth a few times, they loosen right up. I welded mine shut so im of no help with the fittings part.

Now I know they are pressed in and I am moving in the right direction.

Dude, you don't HAVE to pull them, take a look at how we routed our hoses in the 67. We do have Speedtech uppers, but same location. Route the hoses around the fenderwell, and it works out nicely. Very gradual radius, and well supported.
