Temp and Oil sender question
I have the pigtails for both the senders, my question is really simple. The oil sender is a 3 wire plug, other then the feed, what are the two wires running to?
Same with the water temp, its a 2 wire, where is the second wire going, ground?
BTW.....this is for my carclubs Pinks car. Should be there the same day you guys run yours in KC
Help please.

What year LSx, truck, car vette, or gto wiring?
Based on the temp it is 99 or newer wiring. The temp sensor is serial data, effectively a sensor wire and a ground.
I am not sure about the oil pressure, all the diagrams I have seen are single wire, maybe GM updated the later models to a 5v reference oil pressure sender? Ground, 5v reference power, and sensor output?

The oil press sender runs both the oil pressure gauge and also supplies a ground to keep the fuel pump going after the engine starts. The 99-02 F-body temp gauge runs to the PCM only. From there the PCM sends a serial signal to the gauge cluster. You can't eliminate either sensor.
What are you installing the LSx into?

Motor is going in a 88 Mustang.
Got the temp working, just used the driver side hole in the head and a 6 liter sender. Ground and signal to gauge.
But the oil is giving me fits. It is a 5v reference, but I cant get it to do anything but peg the gauge when I fire it up. I picked up 5v off of the IAC, ground to the firewall, and signal to the tach. I'm about ready to use the hole by the filter and put a new sender in.
