ls2 in a 1969 camaro
Was want to know is any one had any or alot info on installing ls2 in 1969 camaro. I know that the oil pan has to be mod also the motor mounts, crossmember, and ac bracket. Just want to know if any one had done this and the problems the run in to. Thanks

You can search here for many swaps of Gen III/IV into 1st and 2nd Gen F-Body and get many other bits of info from other (A and X body, etc).
Also search S&P site www.Hotrodlane.cc, they have lot of documented swaps.
ATS is a big swapper of Gen III/IV into the 1st Gen F-Body.

Please read out thread for a 67 Camaro. We did an LS1/T56, but the swap is very similiar, and you will run into many of the same pitfalls. Would be happy to send you a cost/source spreadsheet if you want as well.

you might want to check out pro-touring.com
there is a guy there named steve1968ls2 that did the ls2 in a camaro.his car has been in a few mags.if you have specific questions i'm sure he can help you out.he's a real nice guy.

If you run an Art Morrison subframe you can use the stock F body oil pan and accessory drives. You can also mount a Sanden compressor for Vintage air using the VA $100 bracket. This gives you a coilover suspension using C5 Corvette control arms and front steer AGR rack and pinion. This is the way I went and I think in the end it's one of the better solutions in terms of total build cost and performance. The ceramic coated headers are reasonably priced and don't have to be beat with a hammer to fit.

Getting a gen III into a first gen is about as easy as a swap like this can get. My wife and I did it in 3 months. While our efforts do not look anywhere near as cool as Penny, our swap came in under $12K, doing it in the garage ourselves.
