Shops that do conversions?
Does anyone here know of any shops that specialize in motor conversions in the United States? I'd love to do the swap myself on my 300ZX but I currently have space issues(live in an apartment). If not, then it is okay. I can try to find a space to rent in town and get my car together. I'm currently living in an apartment complex and the sight of crates and engine lifts would not sit well with the staff. So instead of being an inconvenience and putting it off I could possibly send my car off to whoever can do the work and I can supply all parts. Maybe one day I'll do an LT4 280ZX when I'm more situated and have a yard to do work in. Again, like on my previous post I thank all of you for your input and support.

We love doing LSx swap projects! Got a few in the making right now, and recently completed an LSx/T56 swap into an FC RX7 that now runs 9s.

What do you typically charge to do conversions. Say, swapping a motor/trans/rear into a Caprice or something of the like. Harder the swap the more you'll spend, or are your conversions typically priced around the same amount?

We did an LS2 from an 05 GTO into an 69 Camaro Z28, which is a pretty straight forward swap these days, and yet it was still fairly expensive for the customer. A non drive by wire swap would save some money, but still there are always things you'll encounter that you don't think about. Bob

you gotta take in effect they take the motor in and out a few times, getting everything right and fitted...that takes a while and your paying for every hour! ussually good quality and they will probably back up their work and make sure everythings working the way it should.

Once again, I thank you all for your input. As I've mentioned in my previous post on the Z31 300ZX, I was going to get the swap done at my local community college but we're doing another car there instead so I'm gonna let the pros handle it.

So they finally gave the green light for the construction of the dragway? Sweetness! I remember Concord was getting all butt hurt over noise pollution at the time and were giving Bruton Smith a hard time about it. But glad things are finally working out.

That's what I'm talking about. I may be moving to Charlotte because Fayetteville is damn near a ghost town so a big drag meet out in Concord sounds great.
