Default 2004 6.0 Denali Engine in 1998 Z28

My brother has an opportunity to get a cheap 6.0 denali engine out of a 2004. Can he use this engine in his 1998 z28? He will be using a t-56 manual, and the 98 pcm, and I'm not sure if the signal from the crank will be the same, and if the t-56 will fit if the crank is longer or different, or what not.

I've heard some rumors that there might be some issues.. Anybody got any advice?

Thanks alot,
Josh
