Default Easy tranny Q for the pros

What is the difference in the LT1 and LS1 T56? Are guys using the LT1 behind the LS1 engines in there convertions? Thanks

Input shaft, Throwout bearing and Bell housing are the major differences. They can use a LT1 T56 if they convert the Input shaft, but it would be just cheaper to sell the LT1 and buy a LS1 configured T56.

If you do use a LT1 T56, it would be setting it up like any of the Muncie or Super T10 as far as using the Throwout bearing, flywheel setup and bell housing.

I was thinking the set up like input would be just like converting a muncie,wouldnt you just need the right flywheel?

No. The flywheel has nothing to do with what transmission you are using.

Flywheels go to engines. Clutch covers (pressure plates) go to flywheels. Transmissions go to disks and bellhousings.
