best mods for a C5 Z06
ive had my Z for about 2 months now and im already getting the itch. I do not want to go overkill again like I did on my SS, I want to keep it mostly stock or at least always be able to put it back to stock over a weekend. Give me some ideas. Does a tune really add that much power?

ttp or rapid would most likely be doing my tune. I know matt very well and have had many friends use mikey at rapid. How about some juice on the stock ls6 motor? I heard 100shot is perfect.

Vice versa.
I had a hypertech, just wasted my money, the only way to tune any LSx Engine, is with an Edit tune. You have to know how to use it, otherwise it kinda of defeating the purpose.
My Hypertech I had, was bought to turn the engine light off due to the fact that I didnt have cats, and the o2 sensors weren't reading anything. On the Dyno it didnt do anything. With an Edit tune alot of performance shops can point you in the right direction of getting one, and do the tuning for you.
Over time with the Hy[ertech tune, apart from it not turning the "Service Engine Soon" Light off, it made the car jerk, and it would only accelerate hard if you were above 3000rpms. I got an Ls1 Edit tune and not only did it fix, all my problems (jerking, and such) I gained 25rwhp, and over 40flbs at the wheels from the first pull. The final #'s were 330/ 340.
This is just my opinion, but I had nothing but trouble with a Hypertech tuner.

On a more serious note though... ebay lt's, off road x, BIG CAM, ud pulley, zip tie mod, and a tune.... you will be very happy and be making somewhere around 420 ish, maybe more

A tuner is the last thing you need to worry about until you do some motor work.
I would start with a good CAI, like Halltec then add in a set of LT's & X pipe and then a cam. Then find a reputable tuner to take care of the computer work. You'll be well over 400 at the wheels if you do your homework.

I think that one of the best tune programs is the EFILive, the HP Tuners is fine, but I have seen less issues with EFILive between the two. I think this is something you will not need to worry about for a little while. Do the exhaust and CAI and look for a decent cam and then worry about tuning. The cam and LTs will put you into the 400s easy!

I've done almost everything up top except for an electric water pump and underdrive pulleys. I need a new dyno on this new clutch. The stock ZO6 clutch couldn't hold past the torque peak, so I bought the SPEC Stage 3+ and can put the power down finally. I made 440+rwhp @ only 5000rpm on slipping clutch. At 7000rpm hopefully should make another 20rwhp.
