Default How many of you guys drive use your Z06 as a daily driver?

Just curious as to how these powerhouse cars actually hold up as daily drivers.

I have been thinking about getting an 02' Z06, the price for them isn't too bad, I am sure I can find one for 25k if I look hard enough.

I heard once you drive a Z06 you can't drive an F-body again...heh.

I am a huge Vette/F-body fan by the way.

I use my Z as a daily driver all year round. I take it to school and back 4 times a week and it's a 45 minute trip each way. Overall it's been an awesome daily driver. Very comfortable and easy to drive. About the only thing I didn't really like is the stock headlights, so I replaced them with 6000k HID's.

Unfortunately this is true. I had owned a 99 Trans Am previously and the Z is a better car in almost every category. I still love f-bodies, but there is no denying that the Corvette is a superior car.

99 FRC here. DD it too.

I drove my Formula all day today for the first time in 4 weeks since I got the vette. Alls I can say is I like the vette quite a bit more.

Plus (and here's the great thing) the vette gets better gas mileage

I'm on my 3d Z06 DD, continuously since Aug 2000. Fine DD, except they suck in snow.

I'm DD"ing a 2002 Z06, my commute is only about 16 miles roundtrip. I'll probalby drive until Thanksgiving, and then take it out again in March or wheneve the snow goes away (and the salt is washed away). It's fine in the rain. I still love my Formula, I'd never drag race this Z06 on a regular basis it's just going to break.

The Z06 is a great sports car. Among the worlds best in fact.

That said it is a manual tranny(any manual sucks in NYC or any heavy metro traffic IMO) and the car has NVH issues that hour after hour on the highway can take a slight toll...

I find that when I use the Z for long trips it can take a bit more out of me than a more luxury oriented ride.

If I could have only one car it would still be a Z06 yet I'm trying to give you both the good and the not so good...

(could be the cam and the headers so keep that in mind as you read my review)

I drove a buddy's viper SRT/10 and its more civilizied from a NVH standpoint.

Maybe if I swapped out the titanium exhaust for a GHL it might be different...

Its just a harmonic noise that eventually wears you down.

I can't remember the stock setup any more. Its been too many years.
