Thinking about giving in.

Thinking about giving in.
So....I'm kinda bored with the cobra. I'm especially tired of having to buy a case of torco every 2 weeks and keeping the car on the race gas tune to have a fair chance at beating anything out here in Dallas anymore.
Here is what I'm thinking. The 03 is a anniversary edition with 28k miles. I think I could re-install all stock parts and ask about 25-28 for it and probably get no less than 25 for sure.
Turn around and pick up an 02-04 z06, save for about 6 months, take it over to LG in Wylie and do H/C/I maybeeeee a squeeze on it.
The other option is solid axle/twinscrew swap on the Cobra and a diet.
Opinions?

Go for the Z06. Totally different feel than a Cobra (my GF used to have one). H/C on a Z makes it absolutely MEAN, both in terms of sound and performance. You're gonna love it.

go with the vette. A whole lot better car and the weight savings is already there. Although I would procharge it instead of h/c/i. You still will get almost 30mpg and have stock driveablility and have around 550-600rwhp depending on boost. then again a nice lopey cam always sounds good too.

The other predicament is the car needs to last another 3 to 4 years until I'm through with graduate school. Once that time is up I can buy a beater and go ***** to the wall with the weekend ride. Another plus for the cobra is how much of a beating it can take, minus the independent rear.

Good idea on picking up a corvette and going to LG Motorsports. Check out my sig and see what they did for me. That's N/A power out 346 ci's too. I spent a lot but I also got a lot. Please PM me if you have any questions. C5's can be had real cheap now that the LS3 is getting all the attention. LS2 owners just got screwed when the ls3 was released like LS1 owners were screwed when the ls2 was released. Look around, lots of bargains.
Why not get a high mileage one (cheap) and rebuild the engine/trans and freshen up the suspension??? Could be a lot of car for not a lot of cash. PM me sometime.

Launching!
one of my favorite races is are 03/04 cobras. my car is a bolt on and cam car. i beat most of the cobras i race and make alot less power on the dyno they do. as many have said its two different cars. obviously the opions you get here are biased but i think you would really enjoy a vette vs the cobra.
i dont think ls1 owners got screwed by the ls2 so much. maybe 04 gto owners but that is about it. the ls2 is overall a better motor but not much really. you do the same mods to a ls1 and a ls2 and you are going to have very close to the same power.
the ls2 owners did get it a little. they put ls2 in the vette for 3 years and come out with a new motor. the ls3 is a huge upgrade over the ls2. not only does it have more displacement but the l92 heads are much bigger upgrade than ls6's were vs ls1's. the l76 intake is much better than ls2 and better than a ls6.
its still early to know for sure but there are shops making 480ish rwhp with cam and bolt on ls3's. i could be wrong but i never saw an ls2 make 440 with bolt ons and cam.
