Default Another Vengance Racing 440 coming soon!

After talking with several shops I finally decided to go with Vengance Racing. Yesterday I ordered their 440 built on the ls7 block. I'm going with TFS 245's and the ported fast intake. For the exhaust i'll use Kook's 1 7/8 to 2 inch headers with the catted x pipe, cutouts, and the stock Ti cat back. It should be verry similar to electronbluec5's. I'm hoping for 600rwhp, but what ever it makes I'm sure it will be a handful. I haven't decided on the clutch. I'm torn between the OZ700 or the exoskel, so i'd appreciate opinion's from people who have driven either or both.
Unfortunately I'm not in a position to do the trans and rear end at this point, but I'm counting on my 19's spinning to keep them alive. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, so I'm really excited and needed to tell someone

I wonder what kind of recipe for horsepower Ron is cooking up for your engine build. Good luck, you are going to see a ton of power from this motor.

It's going into an 04 Z06. I'm pretty sure the cam will be around 26x/27x .600/.600.
I basicly wanted a copy of their last 440 which broke 600rwhp, but since the option exsist to use a larger header and the new TFS 245's I thought I'd try them out.

Get some DMH cutouts for that thing. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak up there and hear this monster!

600rwhp NA is going to be pretty nasty!

I am doing a 440ci in my 2003 Z06. I put in a Ram Twin Disc clutch with Mcleoud master cylinder when i had the LS6 heads/cam/boltons putting out 453rwhp. Took 3 days to burn up the stock Z06 clutch. The new twin disc is perfect. Really feels stock.

+1 on the Ram Dual Disc. Only thing is it rattles like a B@#$^ when you have the clutch petal depressed.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to decide soon. The motor is complete now, I just have to get the car to Ga. so they can get started.

I would go with the Textralia twin disc...A buddy of mine with heads/cam/procharger just woked over a Ram twin a few weeks back at the track....My Tex twin has been handling 5k rpm launches behind my 510/500 402 with out even breaking a sweat!

It surely sounds like a sick setup!

Definetly go with the exoskel. The OZ700 is nice, but with that power constantly not sure how she would hold. Just be safe and do the exoskel. You know you will want to spray it as well after you get bored with the 440's power

I finally have an update. The transport truck picked the car up today so it should be in GA. by Mon. or Tues. I'm using LSX Transport, and so far everything has gone well.

<---------- Jealous

The way things are going, I'm seriously considering forgoing the forged 346cid and more boost down the road, and instead getting a built ls7 or lsx > 427cid and selling the blower to off-set some of the cost. Where would I use more than 550-600rwhp with a stalled a4?

I spoke with Ron today. The old motor is out and the new one should go in tomorrow. I think it should be finished up early next week. I'll be there for the get togeather they're having on the 15th, so hopefully I'll get to meet those of you that are local.

Any results with the Vengeance Racing 440?
I am interested in knowing how the heads and cam choice worked out.

Honestly,

I dont know if I would recommend the exoskel twin disk from textralia. I am using it and I cannot get it to hold and I am making the same numbers you are looking to make. I can get it to hold my n/a power fine, but the clutch starts to chatter and slip when i spray even a small shot on the car. There are quite a few people that are having problems getting it to hold as well while others are able to make 900 with it with no problems.

Its up to you. Im in the process of yanking mine out and sending it back to textralia to have them look at it. Hopefully they will be able to take care of it, otherwise Im going to have to go with a tripple disk from them.
