Default Got a New FRC!

Well, it just goes to show you how bad the economy is down here in Florida. I just picked up a mint 99' FRC from a guy who's business is going Chapter 11. It's got 51K on it.

Get this...I got it for $15K!!!

Here are some pictures:

Brings a smile to my face when I read the title.

Awesome dude. Happy for you. Hope you really enjoy it. If your down for a quick "presto chango" look to the car, for little investment. grab some light sandpaper,...scuff up the wheels a little(tape the tires),...and paint those wagons black?

I think, it'd look sinister,...cause it would hide the SIZE of the spokes,...and posibly mask, as a better/aftermarket wheel,...especially at speed.

Do that,...paint your calipers,..mayeb red?...(black wheel, it'll stand out).... and buy the 30 dollar lowering kit,....and there you go bro,....very little investment,...very differnet looking ride.

You don't always have to spend thousands,....just gotta have the pinga to be willing to make a change.

You wanna test the waters?...either do a search for black wagons or something,...or go buy the washable spray paint,...and try it out.

Anyways,...have fun with the car man,...it was a great buy. I also bought my vette for a good price. 14K but, when it was all said and done, out the door 15K. Happy you picked one up soo clean. Enjoy!!!

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The wagon wheels are getting ditched ASAP. I'm ordering some 19"/20" Black C6 Z06 wheels on Monday morning.

In this particular deal, everybody won. I got a killer deal on a Vette, and he got money to pay off his lawyer fees.

Now I just need to sell my Nova so I can start tearing into the motor.

FRC = Fixed Roof Coupe.

It essentially was the prototype body for the 2001+ Z06's. They only made 4031 in 99' and 2000 in 00' - which only constituted about 12% of total vette sales for those years. They came from the factory with an upgraded suspension package and they weigh about 80lbs less than the coupes.

Getting one with that many miles for that price, was a real find. I consider myself very fortunate to have found one.

i agree about the wheels. maybe sand them all down, tape off the lip and shoot the spokes in black and then clear with 4-5 coats of clear. Then as said, lower it(unless your roads are HORRIBLE) and maybe nightshades the tails or put covers on.

Just out of curiosity, what paint could I use to shoot the wheels black? Is it rattle can paint or HPLV paint? I have a make-shift paint booth in my garage if need be.

I'm looking towards an all flat-blat wheel. No polished lip.

^^^Man there's no way any chick would be laying on my hood even if she was the hottest chick on the planet asking me to f_ck her right there! On a side note how do you like the TSP cam? I had that one in my T/A and it did lay down some crazy top-end.

haha, she ended up laying on the trunk too if it makes you feel any better, no buttons on the jeans and nothing to scratch on the top (very soft fabric ) I loved the TSP cam for the power (especially north of 5000rpm) but to DD the car 80 miles got to be a bit much with TD's, that cam and a whiney 12 bolt, hence the FRC vette now.

oops Back on topic with the beautiful pewter FRC

To the OP: what kind of plans do you have for the motor once you sell your other car?

I might consider it if she was either A) completely naked, or B) wearing velvet or something similar! Didn't realize the 233/239 was in an F-bod...I was thinking you had it in your FRC.
