Default Why forged over regular cast

Ive been looking over wheels for my C6. I can get a black chrome ZO6 style wheel for about $1000 for a set or the CCW forged (these seem to be the least expensive forged wheels) for $3600. The only performance difference I can see is a couple pounds lighter per wheel for the forged wheels. I dont see the benefit for almost $3000 additional.... I expected a much larger difference. A total of 12lbs for $3,000?? Any others??

Couple of pounds of rotating mass is actually a lot. Quicker acceleration and quicker turning...

+1. ive heard the weight distribution is better on aftermarket rims too. so lighter + easier rotations = faster. plus, they look cooler

You want the lighest wheel\tire you can get your hands on if you care about 1/4 mile...I was reading where every lb of wheel weight is from 3-4 lbs of static weight. I swapped from stock alu on my Silverado to 20" Aftermarket wheels. They were about 50 lbs per wheel\tire heavier...what a fricken difference. The stock wheels would spin mostly all thru first and the new 20's wouldn't even turn over. I FIGURED THE DIFFERENCE WAS LIKE PULLING AN 800 LB TRAILER.
Listen to this, watch the speedo jump 30+ mph... and then imagine No Spin at all !!!

I shopped and found wheels the same weight as stock.
