got my stock junk yard motor to the track.
im into this motor for $2130 including buying the motor and having a new drive shaft made.
put it in my white car so suspention is all done and good tranny converter.
stock motor with stock ls6 heads, used free valve springs (thanks vin) mild 227 cam and base tuning by myself and tim (thanks tim)
first run off the trailer never drove the car on the street, dyno nothing and went 11.3 at 120
within 2 runs went 11.0 at 123. screw this motor crap.
put 100 shot in it, pulled a couple degrees of timming and she was a pig fat 10.x af the hole run and ended up with a 9.9 133 mph.
1.37 60 foot.
not bad for junk yard dawg.

race weight was between 3100-3200 pounds. scales read 1700 one run and 7900 the next. lol it was 32xx with the lsx block in it a couple years ago, so figure 100 pounds on that, but the driver put on a good 20 pounds since the car last went down the track 2 years ago. lol
no clue on da. it was about 70* out if i had to ball park it id say under 1,000
motor was one from a crashed 2000 camaro with 38,000 miles.
i ripped it apart, left all the pistions, rods crank alone, just cleaned it all.
put a new timming chain and oil pump in it that i had on my bench for 2 years. bought a custom grind cam put all my old 427 stuff on i headers intake etc and got a set of ls6 heads for short coil (100 bucks) got used springs for free had a valve job done and tossed it in the car.
sold most of the parts from the motor and recouped almost all i paid for it and i still have a few parts left to sell. lol

Nice what gear, converter and tire are on the car? My old 355 ran very similar times on motor and n2o. That 60' is real good, best I could do is 1.40 on a 100shot. Later

Great runs, but all this junk yard crap is stupid to me. Most everyone who's got an iron block 408 (or whatever) bought some part of it from a junk yard.
I just happened to find a twin turbo 500 cubic inch LSX block with a direct port nitrous setup and a 600 shot on it at the local salvage yard. they were just getting ready to crush it. So just wait til I get my junk yard motor ready.
