1/8 mile results. Near stock car.
2001 Z28 A4. After racing last night I finally broke down today and bought some drag radials. I has some lousy 60 foots. Best of the night was 8.45 @ 86.03 mph with a 2.06 60 foot. The mph shows I should be closer to 8.1 or 8.2
Last time I posted on here my car was running 12.99 to 13.02 in the 1/4 in late 08 . That was my first outing at the track. First time I ever raced. Not bad for a near stock car. Fast forward almost three years and 20k miles later, my car is still running strong. It has 114k and still runs very strong. I recently did a full tune up and put new oxygen sensors in.
The only thing the car has is a lid and bassini catless y-pipe. It has a canned tune, air delete, slp lid, 180 stat
Suspension wise I have a Edelbrock torque arm, BMR lcas, and a panhard rod. It has stock 3:23s and a stock stall. The trans is worn.
So in the coming weeks, I am diving into it. I am putting another trans in with a 3600 to 3800 stall converter, headers/y-pipe and a dyno tune. I am also doing lca relation brackets and subframes. That includes brand new drag radials I just bought today. I hope to go a little faster.
I know a lot of people suggest heads and cam but I am happy where I am now without pulling the valve covers yet. I need to practice launching. What do you think?
