Default Help! Running Bad in 1/4 miles

At the track been running 12.90-12.92 consitently with a lot of spinning off the line. I am running street tires but I air them down to about 25 psi. Where should I be with my mods (in sig)? What tires should I get for better traction but can still be run on the street in the rain? Any input is welcomed. Oh and Im running at full weight.

I agree you should be running faster. Your 60' is decent for street tires, so I don't think that's the problem. I used to have a 98, and it ran 12.78 at 108 with full bolt-ons, stall, suspension, intake/tune, and street tires. Only thing is, it did that on a 1.78 60'... but even with your higher 60', your heads/cam should make you a good bit quicker. I almost drove out there myself Friday night.

IMO, you should be mid 12s at 112-115 on street tires.

Running Nexen N3000 tire on a 17" rim. Launching at anywhere from 2500-3200. Front tires are at 36-38 PSI cold.

those are shotty tires. get some Nitto's. you can also try rolling into the throttle instead of blasting 2500-3200rpm on shotty tires out of the hole.

your mph is pretty low, 85 in the 1/8th and only 108 in the 1/4. Looks to me that your car is not making the power it should. Get some hoosiers or mickeys, put alot of heat in em and let it eat. Fix the power problem first.

How is R.P.M's tuning rep? Do you have a wideband? I'd get the car on a dyno to see if it's making power.

My car was running horribly lean with my old tune, had it retuned and it went from 13.0-14.0 1/4 mile to the time in sig, no other mods added.

Depends on who you ask, lol. There's three LSx tuners in the Raleigh area, so each has their own following. Seriously though, RPM is supposed to be pretty decent.

Car made 392 as it is now. I thought it should have been more. This was with my 3.23 gears. I dont have a wideband so I cant see if its leaning out. Im going to get it back up there to have them go over my tune again since its been about 3 years

mickey thompson makes a great set of drag radials 275/40/17 should fit great on the rims u got run about 18psi do a really nice first burnout once u get them and u should at least cut your 60's by .1 or even .2 depends on your rear suspension upgrades. btw the tires r not awesome in the rain how ever they will be ok as long as u dont overpower them.

My car made 394 cam only and weighed 3850 with me in it. My car ran 11.5x at 116/117 and with my horse jockey lol 3650 weight ran 11.4x at 119/120. On the last thing you said, that would be a good idea. I would think a h/c a4 car would make around 410 at least, depending on your combo of course. Also, get yourself some real tires and beat the **** out of it.

Nitto nto5 hook good on the track and great on the road at 20 psi at the track. They do good in the rain. I had the nexon 3000 and They grip no where as good as the nt05s. You don't warm them up either bc they are street tires

I saw you out there last saturday, car was looking pretty good. I doubt its a tuning issue, RPM is top notch. I would try some different tires and see what happens. Dont forget it was a really hot and humid day on those runs, i was a couple tenths off where i should have been too.
