rearmount turbo results.
Made it to the track with my custom made rearmount turbo camaro.
Engine is a forged 6L around 9.9:1 compression with unported 317 heads,230/227 cam, vic Jr intake, fast 4150 TB and a extreme velocity carb hat.
Th400 with a 3800 4C circle D converter
Moser 12 bolt with 3.73's with 28" tall ET streets.
Turbo is a Turbonetics Hurricane 7868.
Car is running on 91 octane and 13psi currently and has a raceweight probably somewhere around 3800+ lbs.
Anyways, track that I ran at doesnt have the greatest prep and we were battling rain spurts all day... had the 2 step set to 3600 and was leaving on 2-3 PSI via transbrake.
best pass of the day was as follows...
1.59 60'
6.91 @ 102.8 mph 1/8th
10.67 @ 133.84 mph 1/4
Hoping to make it to a better track sometime in the next month and leave on a little more boost/rpm.

very nice times!! congratz on the build. hope to be right behind you on this. no litterarly cause im not putting that big of cam in my car lol i have a somwhat simular build going but with slightly smaller parts going in. (3200 stall, T76 turbo, ls6 intake, mild cam, stock 2.73 gears, stock 4l60e)
hows it drive on the street? im wondering about doing the 317 heads on my car as well with a 224r or a 224/228 type of cam. how does yours perform out of/in to boost that way? i know at the track your looking at getting to the other end as fast as possible, but at part throttle hows it react? form a stop in mormal driving?
and you sir also have a very nice chassis setup dont you, you leave straight out the hole each time. nice launch. watched some of the other cars and alot of them were sideways lol.

It drives perfectly fine on the street, the converter is probably a little on the loose end, but it was spec'd for my car when it was N/A. I drive it to the track and back home which is a 2 hour drive each way.
I'm in the process of installing some 3.42's into my 12 bolt, so we'll see how the setup likes that... i know it'll help on long trips since I currently avg around 3500rpm on the highway.
With the loose verter its nearly full boost as soon as i stab the throttle, very minimal lag with this setup.
The cam isnt nearly as big as you think, it pulls 18-20" of vacuum at idle at drives as smooth as stock!
As for the chassis setup, its nothing special, QA1 single adjustable coilovers up front, Comp Engineering 3 ways out back set at 50/50, UMI th400 torque arm mount with UMI full length torque arm, eibach pro kit rear springs with an airbag in the right spring, BMR lcas with relocation brackets, stock rear sway bar,stock panhard bar.
Could probably benefit from a nice drag bar.
Odds are i'm going to up the boost to 18#s for a local track event coming up in september and see what she'll do!

starting to make me reconsider the 317 heads for boost with a bigger cam.
and you are right, after reading around, that cam is still on the mild side of things.
you definitly got the suspention dialled in for sure.
definitly let us know what its like on the 18+ boost levels bet its a BLAST lol

Stock manifolds to 2.5" pipe then it merges to a 3" pipe. Then the whole hotside is wrapped in DEI Ti wrap from the manifolds to the turbo.

damn, i still gotta deal with mt headers before i go rear turbo. im still wondering if a slightly bigger cam could increase the exhaust volum and make better use of the LTheaders flow that coupled with 317 heads and more boost, and wrapped headers, i wonder how much this could help spool with LT header? i just really dont want to swap out my headers lol i was proud of myself when i put those things in... and they were a PITA too on the ground!!

fuel system is 60# injectors using the edelbrock railes for the vic jr, a -6 line from the rails to the stock fuel line. Then twin GSS340 pumps intank to a nice Y fitting. 1st pump is controlled by the pcm like its factory, 2nd pump comes on with the hobbs switch set at 2psi.

oh wow! with 13 psi too? id image your car would run even that much better with a BR-FPR but hell, why fix it if it aint broke. i image your tune is on point for how well it runs. im still wondering if i should with my build but im not running as much boost nor power as you so it might be over kill. still researching it.
