First time to the track
Woodburn Oregon 5-31-13: Friday Night Drags and 100 mph Club Night. Did 7 passes. 1st two I went 2nd to 5th (what an amped up rookie!). Got that figured out and went 102+ in low 14's. I was spinning so bad in first and TC was on so it was shutting me down hard. Last 3 TC off and started working on easing it off the line with lower rpm's and some clutch feather. Ended up 13.8 at 105+. 60' times still horrible (2.2 - 2.5). Going to invest in DR's before I go back. Car is capable of much better I think but driver and tires need help. It was fun and I did seem to have the RT thing down. I left on almost everybody with several .0 reaction times (a .053 and .080)
I got in the 100 mph club which was my goal for my first time out.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did not heat up tires. Drove around water and didn't do a quick spin to clear debris off tires like some have suggested, next time. It was spur of the moment decision to go so I didn't check tire pressures. I assume fronts to max psi for ease of roll and backs down enough to make an even contact patch all the way across? The tires are just plain horrible (Nexen N3000 in 275/30-19) They don't hook at all and I knew that before I went to the track. I am thinking Mickey Thompson 305/35-19 ET Drag Radials. I hope they aren't too big and rub? Thanks

My son was there in his 92 S10. White, pretty docile looking. He ran well and bested his PIR times by more than 2 tenths.
I'll have to come down and give it a go. PIR traction is pretty much non existant.
BTW....if C5 wheels will fit your car....I think they will, I have a pair of 245/45/17 Hoosier DR's on 17x8.5" C5 Thinspoke wheels I'd like to sell. They have less than 30 passes on them.

Thanks Ron. I realized I had a pair of 17X9.5 Torq-Thrust II's still from the Camaro I could use so I just bought some 275/40-17 Mickey Thompson's ET Drag Radials from Summit for them.
