Default First time at the track with my cam only SS

Just took my cam only SS M6 to the track for the first time tonight (details in sig). First time going down the track in four years, first time going down in a stick, man is there more pressure on you with a manual lol.
I'm aware these numbers are sickening for a cammed LS1. However, (and I'm not trying to make excuses, I know I need to learn the driver mod) the back tires are shot NT555 street tires, they're down to the wear markers, it spun most of first and initially in second. Just couldn't get the right launch, and I only had 3 runs to play with it due to track issues.

1st run-Didn't know what was gonna happen, spun the hell out of first-13.7 @110

2nd run-Roll off idle start, missed 4th-14.05 (I know )

3rd run-Slightly less throttle than the first time, still spun, took it easy on the shifts as I knew it was my last run and I wanted to get at least one smooth run in, could've banged them alot faster-13.5@110.9mph

Here are the slips (in order from left to right), feel free to bash me on my 60ft times

I wish I had more runs to play with it as I felt I was getting better, but oh well. There's always next Friday

Get some Toyo Proxes TQ DRs. They cheap relatively and they wear well and hook better than Nitto 555r.

Your 60ft is horrible as you can tell. Your Trap is quite a bit off as well.

Here is some great advice from my buddy Rob that he posted in another thread...

Try this out and see how it works! It's going to take some seat time and a good amount of passes in the car until you get comfortable and know how the car is going to react. If you do end up getting a set of DR's do the same thing and raise the RPM until you find the threshold of the tires hooking.

Shifting will also be important in achieving an optimal ET. Make sure your shifts are nice and quick as to not waste any time and keep the car in the power band as best as possible.

As far as other factors a little suspension work wouldn't hurt. Some LCA's and Relocation brackets are a cheap easy mod to keep the tires planted. An upgraded Tq arm as well if you want.

Lastly make sure the car has a good tune so it is safe and you can squeeze every last bit out of it! Good luck OP, keep trying and get out there as much as possible to get that practice.

Car is tuned and dyno'd 395/384 through an LS6 intake, however I'm starting to wonder if I can get more out of it

Are those tires considered full race stickies? For right now I still have the stock 10 bolt, and I know enough to know that spells trouble. I intend on ordering a Moser 9" from BruteSpeed shortly.

I just wanna get back up there because these times just aren't good enough. I'm frustrated I could only get 3 runs in, some early 80's foxbody puked the last 1/8th mile of the track, cleanup was nearly 2 hours.

If your worried about the 10 bolt then just wait to get the 9". Then get some real tires.
I like Hoosier drs for track. I run MT drs though because they are better for street. I wouldn't count on anything less than a MT dr at the track. Just my preference though.

Well my wheelsare 18's and I wouldn't run a true DR on them, I'd get some pro stars or something. The Proxes aren't available in that size (275/35/ZR18).
What about the NT05's? I'm not expecting the them to perform like a DR but I've heard they're substantially better than a normal tire in straightaway acceleration

Time for tires and some gears, takes quite a bit of practice to get it out of the hole. How were you launching the car?

I am presently running the Nitto 555r, which I really like. Not as sticky as the MTs but they seem to be holding up better…
