Default First Time at the Strip!

Went down the Woodburn drag strip for the very first time yesterday in my 2000 SS M6. I helped set up banners for my job and was told I could run my car after. I was expecting to do a 1/4 run but they had it set up for 1/8th mile bracket race amongst other employees that went out to help. My reaction times were pretty terrible but with practice I hope to see them drop. The first two runs were qualifying (sorry if that's the wrong terminology), the third run was the first of the ladder race and where I got eliminated... by .0056 seconds!

Side note, the owner of the F150 says he had a super charged raptor engine that makes 650hp at the crank installed in the truck... my 340whp was still enough to take him though

Edit: Time Slips attached, I am #15.

Tons of fun but I need more! Me and my friend with a 5th gen were planning on going on the 22nd so this freebie was some much needed practice haha I know I didn't post them but my reactions times were a .5-- and two .7--, 60' were all about 2.1--. I need to be leaving a lot sooner it would seem.

It's all about seat time...keep working on shifting and your mph will increase. I'm assuming you are still on the 10 bolt, so finessing that out of the hole will take some time.

Car is pretty well stock besides Tsp headers and rumbler dual exhaust, lid, and suspension mods.

Very fun indeed. Proceed with caution. Can be addictive. I did my first trip to the strip 7 weeks ago with my mostly stock 2000 SS A4. $1800 in mods laterr, I knocked off .05-.6 off my 1/4 mile. Any plans for the car?

I plan on installing a P1SC supercharger. I have the head unit and intercooler setup but need to get the fuel and mounting parts still.

I know we're not supposed to ask "What will it run questions" but using a few 1/8 to 1/4 conversion tools online it says I should run a 13.7-13.9 quarter assuming all things consistent including my crappy launches. Does that sound about right?

Surprised any track would let you run without a helmet.

On decent tires you should expect very low 13's.

I know that if you run a 13.99 or faster in the quarter you need a helmet but I don't know about the 1/8th. Thanks for your input though. a low 13 would be exciting.

I remember my '99 ran a 12.78 in good air at Moroso with nothing more than a gear change.

I was surprised as well haha! By the end of '99 the car went 11.66 with a 125 NOS dry shot.

I took my 02 SS today, all stock, automatic. I ran 8.87 in the 1/8th and 13.64 in the quarter. In my defense....I wasn't expecting pro light to drop on me. Lol They disnt let me do another pass because I had no helmet.

Yeah, Pro tree you have to roll deep with these type of vehicles. I have done a best of .430 on a .400 pro tree like that. You shifting manually or letting the car decide?

I did this pass on "Drive". Was planning on shifting manual on the next one to see if there was a difference but got booted.
