Default Should I Disappointed? 5.3 S10

So I posted earlier about my 1991 S10. It has a efi 5.3 with a 216/220 cam. 700r4 with 3.73 gears. Stock rear and suspension with slapper bars. 245/50R16 Nitto 555rs with 3/4 tread. I did switch from 3.08 to 3.73 and picked about a tenth in the eighth. I am still running the stock S10 converter. I wanted to get in the low eights, but just can't. Is it because of my 60' time? I wasn't hooking the best, but still expected more. Or are my expectations too high? Here is my time sheet. Please help! Want low 8s in the worse way!

Your expectations aren't entirely unreasonable, but your 60' is garbage. Are you spinning bad? The 555r should be plenty for your power level. You need a higher stall converter.

You need to run the 555r at about 16-17 psi and get them hot as **** (long smokey burnout) Also agree you need a converter asap

You need the few things you already know you need and it will haul the mail as long as it's tuned properly. I ran the same cam in my 00' Z. It is really cool. I love the way your little truck looks. I had one just like it with a 2.8 until it got rearranged by an Ahole.

I thought they would be enough too! I tried 16,18 and 23 psi. Never really made a difference.... and I usually burnt them 4-5 seconds after seeing smoke.

That's why I get upset with this thing! I feel like I could run low 8s with even a 1.8ish 60 foot! There was a typhoon that I went against that trapped 83mph with a 1.83 60'. He ran a 8.3!

Haha I love your thirdgen Camaro! Always had a soft spot for those cars. The S10 is a blast! It's a donut machine! Couldn't be any happier with it except with this issue at the track! I want a converter in the worst way, but school is first for now...
