Default A little disappointed

Ran my 98 trans am last night. The weather was awesome. Mid 50"s with about a 200 DA.

60ft - 2.08
1/4 - 13.44 @ 105.44 mph

The car had longtubes, off road y pipe, EGR delete and a SLP lid with FRA mod.

Was hoping for a little more mph

Car is an auto with 2.73 gears.

Think that's a little weak??

not real weak , about what a stock 273 geared car should run in good weather , probably just a tune for the bolt ons would have you flirting with 12.9's

the 2.08 60 foot is decent for stock stall/273/street tires sub 2.0 is hard to do stock stall/273 a nice convertor and some sticky tires and you would be solid into the 12's

Yeah, I think it needs a LS6 manifold, converter, 3.46 rear gear and a tune. Still was hoping for more MPH though

A good ram air will pick up your mph. If you have a some extra coin skip the ls6 intake and find a used Fast 92/92 setup. That will get your mph up also.

I was able to get a 1.99 60 with stock stall and 2.73s with stock tires. Drop the pressure down to 22 to 25, a small burnout to dust off the tires. I build it up at the line, and ease in the gas... not too light, kinda quick. As soon as it's rolling have the gas to the floor.

I hit a 1.99 60 with a 12.89 et with slp cold air kit, tune, and kooks headers and true duals. Stock ls1 intake. I'm sure you can hit 12s.

I don't think they are horrible times.
Is the car tuned? Just a transmission tune will help massively. The amount of torque management in stock form is a killer. On top of that a 2.73 car with a stock converter.....

Yeah, I was going to put a 3.46 rear end from a 6 speed car in it. Everyone is saying that the PCM fries about 50% of the time on these 98 cars though. Tempted to sell it or do a 99+ pcm because I plan on going turbo in a few months

I have 2 98's no pcm frying issues here. going turbo you may want to go with a newer pcm though they have better tuning capability for boost.

Same here, I have had my car tuned many times.

My buddy on the other hand had his block up on him his first tune from the same tuner I use
