Default 120mph cam only

Just wondering how regular a 120mph trap speed for a Cam only car is? Cant say I've seen too many of them though.

My car came close to it this past weekend. New best mph.

MIR had stripped the starting line of rubber during the offseason, so traction was nowhere to be found. 1st gear was virtually non-existant, the second I would go WOT it would just spin and hit the rev limiter. I tried leaving at 4000, 3000, and lastly 2500. All resulted in 60' times of 2.097, 2.102, and 2.277. Hardly acceptable for 15" Drag Radials.

However, I am still pleased with the mph.

60'-2.097
1/8- 8.128@93.21
1/4- 12.26@119.6

120's are pretty common for the cam only cars. Rodney trapped 130 with his.

I'm not talkin about all-out racecars

Most of the cam-only cars around here run from 116-118, Ive seen 1 or 2 in the 119 area, but I cant say I've personally ever seen one touch 120 yet.

I've taken out the backseat, jack & spare tire. I have a fiberglass hood, and Welds. Thats the only weight reduction I've done.

you have LS6 heads

Damian, the best I got out of the B1 was 115.23, but it could have gone a lot faster if HumpinSS had tuned it before I swapped in the 230/236

I almost hit 120 last fall. I should hit it this Spring after cutting my weight another 60 or 70 lbs. I tip the scales around 3300 raceweight but I have an A4 with a little C1 cam.

Edit: I finally hit 120 this Spring with the little C1 cam. Time for the G5X4!

I believe the cam only results easily. Even though I have stage 2 heads, a bigger cam with stock heads will make up some ground. Sometimes I think aftermarket heads are a little overrated. I mean they DO produce more power, but not a phenomenal amount.

I would say my heads gave me 20-25 HP. Which doesn't make it a great "bang for the buck" mod, because heads are expensive.

SMOKIN01TA...no doubt your car runs good but, 10:40's @ 130mph.....cam only is simply amazing.......... So many people don't even get close to your times with h/c & spray.
