Default Maiden Voyage-Twin T67's-Short Video

I'm double posting this in the Forced Induction Section also.

1st off on Friday night - at a street shoot-out - our track manager promised me a great track on Sunday. Well guess what? It was crap. He had no explanation - track was a vet rental.

1st pass out of the trailer; no transbrake. Tried to foot brake it. Track wouldn't even hold 2,000rpms on the line. Could feel the tires braking loose and it pushing at the same time. Obvious the start of a crap run, nailed the gas, went from one wall to the center line. Had to get out of it 3 times. A great run . 6lbs of boost. Only max 40-45% trottle. I will not even repeat the time.

2nd pass: Left off idle. Only partial trottle all the way into 3rd gear.2.0 60'; 11.466 at 133.578. Track wouldn't hold anything. Again only 6lbs of boost; max 45-50% trottle.

3rd pass: Left off idle again, 1.92 60'; 7.199 at 106.590 1/8 mile; 10.760 at 139.012. 7lbs max; max 50-55% trottle - only on top end.

No mechanical problems. The tune was dead on. Had to drive the **** out of the car on all 3 runs. We packed it up and went home. And the weather, **** almost 90, max humity.

Overall, not bad. The times will be there. If the track would have been prep right, 9's would have been in the bag on 8lbs - only about 1/2 our goal.

Here's a short video of the 3rd run (as seen, that is NOT the SS smoking, the tires hazed the entire 1/4 mile) and a couple new pictures of the SS. Maybe next week it will be different.

Good to see that you finally got it out Dave. Sorry I couldn't make it out, I went to a funeral. I will be there next time and hopefully the track will be in better shape for ya.

Nice times. That track is a craphole. I dunno if i'd even consider drag racing there. I'm sure your car is capable of 9's, just not at that track.

On a side note, what idiot made the last end of it uphill? That's very dangerous, as some cars with a drag suspension could bottom out easily.

Ive seen a 5 second pass on the track once and the track reguarly sees 8 and 7 second cars. No problem. The tracks been there since the 60's.

Awesome, just awesome. I bet you would have liked to had my awd on that track . If that car can run like that in those track/weather conditions just imagine what its gonna do on a good day!

I saw in your other thread about your a/f being 11. - 12.0 area with 23 degrees! thats on race gas correct? its also great that the car stayed nice and cool too!

Good luck, ill be anxiously awaiting videos from GOOD runs!

Yep. I run 114 "Blue". I can get away with more timing. The AEM management system kicks ***. I'll keep you all posted. Next TNT is next Sunday for me; car show on Saturday. I'm not sure when I'll get back into the points race (we only run for $$ ).

The track may look weird, but we have had numerous 6second cars on the track without any problems. The only problems come in from the winds sometimes. I have personally seen a couple cars go mid-5's at 250+mph at the track without problems. I know that track manager felt bad about the prep, nothing he could do. No other slick cars were out to lay some new rubber down.

Of course none of this could have been possible with a great tuner/builder/sponsor -- Big thanks goes to Joey at Excessive

I don't have O2's anymore, BUT last year I ran same 114, used Dynso O2's without any problems.

So far as wide-bands, I doubt race gas would hurt them. I ran last year and this year the same AEM wide, same gas, no problems.

Congrats on getting some time down the track David, although not even close to full extent. Hope she cleans up nice for the show and then gets down track for some stout runs Sunday!

Thanks Derek. It did feel good to finally be at the track other than being a spectator

Hawkn01. Already in the works. Just wanted to get a few passes in before we make any type of changes.

Coach. Glad to see your season is going so well. The only thing I will miss is being consistent. Hopefully I will get things ironed out. Would love to go real racing again.
