Cartek 4x H/c = 10.41 @ 131.15
CARTEK installed their new clutch design in my car a few weeks ago and last night I went to test it out at Atco. The clutch felt awesome, the results were promising [10.53 @ 130+ with a 1.42 60'] so I figured it would be worth it to call out of work and go to E-Town tonight.
The car was spinning off the line, but with enough tire I guess even with spin you can pull a decent 60' The 60's were still not what I wanted, and nowhere near my best 60's but the car still performed.
First pass off the street after swapping to slicks from street tires:
5900rpm launch [very low for me]
60'......1.460
1/8......6.703
MPH....102.17
1/4......10.496
MPH.....130.43
First pass and a new best? Tis was going to be a good night.
After a 10.50 and a 10.51 with even crappier 60's I figured out the launch sweet spot for the current track conditions.
4th pass was as fallows:
60'......1.445
1/8......6.674
MPH....102.61
1/4......10.457
MPH.....130.90
5th pass was the best, and gave me a chubby when I saw the slip
60'......1.452
330'.....4.282
1/8......6.652
MPH.....103.51
1000'....8.696
1/4......10.417
MPH.....131.15
Don't forget it still a stock 6speed with stock rods, stock pistons, stock crank. Its a stock bottom end with a bolt on set of heads and a cam that anyone can call CARTEK and get.
My ultimate goal for this set up was a 10.39 and I think just based on the crappyness of tonights 60's its very possible. I just have to get my 60's back into the 1.40-1.42 range and I am golden!
I know I have said this a million times, but;
I can not thank CARTEK enough. Over the years they have been awesome friends and the best shop I could have ever asked for. They have build me one hell of a setup.
Thank You Dave
Thank You Julio
Thank You Mike
Thank You Roy
Thank You Rich
Hell even thank you Julian for answering the phone and taking such wonderful messages!
CARTEK is the best. If I had the cash I would hire a few chicks to polish each of their *****! I cant thank you guys enough! I love this set up.
And the pest part of all, after the night was over, my GF and I took the car to Applebee's so she could get me a Guiness to celebrate the new best! LOL

To answer the questions;
The most the car made on the dyno was 507.9 HP 433.6 Torque
The DA that night was awesome, As I stated on another thread probably around -700 or -800. I am sure it will show lower on the internet calculators but don't forget that the car is sucking in air from 2' off the ground which is warmer then ambient air temperature. It was about 41F or 42F last night, the track temp higher from the cars running on it, with a ~10mph headwind, but nothing major. I don't think a small headwind like that hurts at all. Obviously did not hurt LOL
Race weight on the Englishtown scales was right at 3300lbs with me in it. I am only 130lbs. It varied from 3310 to 3300 so Ill state the lower weight for the record.
You are right, I will not state head flow numbers or cam specs. All I will say is that they are hand ported [Mike is god with a grinder!] LS6 [243 heads] with 2.02 intake and 1.57 exhaust valves, Comp 921 springs. The cam is a custom hydraulic roller grind by Comp for CARTEK and not gigantic by todays standards at all. If you would like more detailed info I am sure Dave @ CARTEK will be more then happy to discuss this setup with anyone who calls 908.317.4496 Just ask about the 4X setup.
Coach, thanks! I have been in the 10's for 3 years now thought LOL First with my old S2 H/C and 75shot [10.70] then with this current set-up last March [10.56] worked my way down to a 10.51 in November, and got my 10.41 just last night. Had this H/C on since November 2005, just had to contend with broken rears a few times and finally getting the car dialed in. But thanks again!

thanks a lot man!
To be on pump gas and 3300lbs with a street driven H/C car and trapping 131+ is nuts. I LOVE IT!

T56 Rebuilds made 518 and ran 10.1 with a lighter car. TTP made 504 and ran 10.5x in the car with a manual, 10.3 with an automatic, once again in a lighter car. Other shops have put up 500+ with H/C but have yet to prove them at the track. ET's and MPH are the true showing of power, anyone can put up dyno numbers by dynoing outside, through stock gearing, by bumping the timing and leaning out the A/F but only a few shops have proven their dyno numbers at the track. This package I feel is the best of the ones that have gone quick at the track in the respect that you can call up, and have the same exact heads/cam and tuning done to your car in a few weeks. In fact anyone can, its a setup that is ment to be reproduced for as many people as CARTEK has asking, it is not a one off, only happens once type of setup.

How can you say this "Other shops have put up 500+ with H/C but have yet to prove them at the track"
My car dyno at 505rwhp it's 02 z06 w/ stock 3.42 gears. It ran a 6.96 @ 101.5 w/ 1.59 60ft only the 6 time down the track. Only shifting at 6500 instead of 7000 and not launching all that hard cause of stock rearend 3.42 not 4.56.
Not taking anything away from your car it's flying!!!! Congrads!

Brad, I think he's saying this because neither of us have gone out and run the 10.51 @ 130 he ran last November after he'd had this package installed and worked with it for a year or the 10.41 @ 131 he just ran in great air. I'm pretty much going to stay out of the shop vs shop argument until I get my car better optimized for the power curve and run the number. However, just for the record, my car is anything but a "one off" and anybody can go and purchase exactly what I have for precious little coin and not take weeks to get it done. However, since I haven't run the numbers the CARTEK crew has, I'll bow out gracefully for now.
Once again WS6TransAm01, great numbers from a street driven car. You've got a package to be proud of. You've raised (or lowered as it is in this case) the bar and given some of us other H/C combos something to shoot for. Let us know when you hit that 10.3x.
