Default density altitued VS MPH?

just got through a disappointing weekend...

i usually trap over 88mph on the 1/8. i swapped on a ported fast 90mm intake manifold and nick williams throttle body and went for the 1/8. only trapped 85mph...what the heck?

im hoping to hell that my problem is the weather. da was around +1200. before it was around -600. my 60' also went from 1.69 to 1.85 but i kind of expected that with 90% humidity.

so, what are the effects of DA on yalls MPH? 3mph lost with a fast 90 just kills me.

There calculators out there that can help you.

Google for a DA VS MPH.

As for the 60 foot, the weather is not going to make it do that. If the 60 foot and 330 had been the same and the 1/8th to be close but the MPH be way off I could there maybe be a diff due to weather.

Dont get me wrong the lower the DA = Denser, colder, more oxygenated air which will help make more power and hence improve MPH but to lose 3 and if there was no power loss in the motor, Id chalk it up to the 60 foot. now bear in mind, there was no mention of Transmission.

Agreed, a improperly set up can can be effected if track prep is not optimal, but thats Atco on a -1000 DA day vs lets say a 500 DA day, but even then those colder days yeild a big diff in the MPH.

^ move to another state...

Mph to DA can vary...for my car it is more dependent on temp over DA, so every 10-12 degree drop in temp i gain 1 mph...for DA it is anywhere from 800-1000 ft is 1 mph...

also did you get it tuned after the install

I can't wait for the day I can, I hate it here, I had to move to the El Paso area for my job. I used to be at 1,800alt with a DA between 1,000 and 2,500' and thought that was bad lol.
