Im sure some of you might know FWD Drag racing.
Being that my RWD was much easier and the mods needed for RWD to get a good 60 ft is the opposite for FWD racing. I heard that lowering springs in the rear and sway bars help get FWD traction on the track. Oh and Slicks would help Im sure.
Anyone drag race a FWD car on a track?

I wont get into the FWD vs RWD vs AWD vs 4WD debate but when racing a FWD its all about NOT allowing the weight to xfer to the back of the car. As the car xfer's weight to takes it off the drive axle/tire and traction is lost or you cannot launch as hard and thus decreasing potential 60 foot times.
Keeping the weight on the tire, with proper tire compounds and a VERY stiff rear suspension will be a big improvement over any stock set up.
I have seen guys went straight bars in the bar which eliminate any ability to allow weight xfr, I have seen guys with preloaded wheelie bars.
Ultimately most I have seen run a manual, run some sort of FI or Nitrous power adder, leaving off the limiter and praying if the half shafts live.

Actually one of my ideas is to use a Soltice rear end and find a way to mount the engine the right way. LOL

FWD cars on AVERAGE, are not expected to 60 foot like Heros. Their speed is attributed to essentially a weight to hp ratio, gearing, and suspension. Leaving the hole is an essential thing but if you ever have seen AWD DSM's leaving hard, only to drop the nose and then as they get rid of that turbo lag and go down the track, its pitiful.
These cars make up ET due to back half pull, not in the 60 foot.

Do yourself a favor camaro98.... don't waste your time. It's not gonna be fast, no matter what you do. the ONLY hope you have, is to 100% theft recover the thing, I mean GUT it to the fullest extent, hole saw the inner metal up, really hack it apart. And then, you're still gonna be limited to what can happen in the first 300 feet.
IMO, the time/effort that you will put into it, you could just pick up a cheap 4th gen ls car and put 3500 bucks into it and be into the 11's with no problems.

i went 12's with $200 in go fast parts in my FWD car....
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=52823752
then again the best 60' i could get was 1.8. like as stated before the key is to have the suspension soft in the front and hard in the rear, if weight transfers to the rear it comes off the front which causes loss of traction.
if your trying to run 12's then FWD is fine, if your trying to run 11's gets gets alot harder, if your trying to go 10's or faster its faaaaaaaaaar from easy compared to a RWD set-up
