Default MPH is up, but wheelspin is a problem...

Went to Orlando "spinworld" last night, my MPH is up as the title states, but my 60 ft. times were horrible.

60' 2.127
330 5.791
1/8 8.740
MPH 84.30
1000 11.229
1/4 13.344
MPH 106.08

60' 2.262
330 5.929
1/8 8.875
MPH 84.47
1000 11.361
1/4 13.461
MPH 106.71

60' 2.123
330 5.774
1/8 8.717
MPH 84.51
1000 11.201
1/4 13.301
MPH 106.62

Last night the weather was in the mid to low 60's, I have no idea what the DA was last night. I had 1/2 tank of gas, runs 2 & 3 were uncapped, #1 was through the muffler. I have Nitto drag radials P245/50-16's on firebird rims @ 18 psi. Mods are in sig, car has approx. 50K miles. I had a few people tell me I needed to drop the tire pressure to 14 psi, but that seems too low to me. The contact patch on the tires looks dead nuts on. I blame some of my traction problems on lack of track prep, but I still cannot belive that my underpowered car w/ the weak 2.73's has enough suds to blow off the Nittos like it did last night. My best ET last night isn't very far off of my previous best, and has more MPH. My previous best was achieved in very cold weather last December. I find it hard to believe that I need suspension mods this early in the game.

Does anyone have any input on tire pressure with these tires? Or any thoughts on the ET & MPH from last night? I honestly feel the car is capable of high 1.9 sixty foot times, but hasn't been able to do it since it was stock.

I would say your tire pressure is cool. Gears would help ya alot.

Practice & seat time are the greatest mods ever!

I have personally never heard of going lower than 16 psi with these tires. Plus, like I said - contact patch looks perfect. As for the gears, I have a set of 3.42's sitting on the shelf. They will be installed when time/money allows.

I definately don't get to the track as often as I'd like to, so no doubt I could improve a little on my driving.
