Default Best NHRA Legal Removal Door Bar

Yeah.. I searched.

My understanding is that a removal door bar is legal for a 8.50 cert. cage. But, I cannot seem to find a "kit" that satisfies the requirements.

Sooo... those with removal door bars, did you have something fabbed or did you buy a "kit"?

I do not want swingouts.... I want to be able to remove them and set them aside until track day.

Thanks.

TO my knowledge you can't have removable door bars and be legal to 8.50. They are legal to 9.99 iirc.

As stated, they can't be fabbed up as removable bars. But you can do a legal swing out bar and just unbolt it and pull it out until ready to go racing. I used to do this on my car during the off season to drive it around.

The Chris Alston kit is the one I have. Looks just like the pic above except it's got a bolt and nut where it pivots. I take it out all the time and it's very quick and easy to put back in. Definitely recommend it.

Applied Racing Technologies also makes a nice quality piece. As stated above, just remove the bolt that operates as a hinge when not needed and remove the entire bar.
