Super Chevy Show results
Well, I was out at Super Chevy Show at the great Pomona Fairplex. Although the crowd was not as big this year, with the expectations of more participants from the not-scheduled NV and AZ shows. Friday I was able to put in a couple of good runs. The temperature was about mid 80s. My first run the SES code went on, darned O2 sensors. So I ran a 12.78 @ 106.6 on a 1.79 60'. Next run, Icleared the code and ran ...
60' = 1.681
1/8 ET = 7.897
1/8 MPH = 86.53
1/4 ET = 12.443
1/4 MPH = 107.96
That is the best this car has ever run anywhere, and this is with only four mods: FTRA, TS&P Lid, Hooker LTs, and Vig3200 on ET Streets! So I am very excited about this for my project car, it will inherit these mods, plus a serious weight reduction and PCM tuning (which the SS never had). The best MPH was a 108.15. After which, it got hot and the car slowed to mid 12.5s @ mid-high 107s. Today, Saturday, in brackets (didn't make it) I ran a 12.733 @ 106.62 on a 1.814 60' ... turns out my torsen unit is on it's way out, had my crew cheif check it out ... yup torsen is dying, so much for buying back in. Well, the other car will get a 12-bolt with 4.56 ( or lower) gears to get out of the hole faster. So, mixed emotions of this weekends race. At least I have a new best for my SS!

Yeah, I know ... but I figure with that converter ET Streets are a must and they go hand in hand.
Unfortunately STMPDUST, I won't be at LACR Friday, gotta fix my car.
Oh, videos of my 12.443 run, and two friend's of mine, are up on my site!

Great seeing you there! Sorry about the car. Congrats on the new times.
I got knocked out round one too. Cut a .497 light. But ran 11.96 on a 11.95 dial.
Ran a new best, but it was odd. Not my best 60', MPH was down 1.5mph, yet ran 11.88 @ 116 w/1.67 60'.
Kat ran in ET2 class, and the guys in lanes gave her ****. Had her in tears. Started hassling her about safety equipment for no reason, talking behind her back loud enough for her to hear. The car was teched TWICE for 11's, and was 100% legal, but other racers didn't want her there, so tried to find a violation and squealed to the track officials.
She cut a .501 light, and ran 12.2, but lost, and a guy in the stands screams "YOU SUCK!! SELL THE CAR!!!" when she drove down the return.
That will be our last Super Chevy ever. The time before we went to Super Chevy (Las Vegas), one of the other racers keyed our Camaro, tried to play "mind games" with me (doesn't work on me), and I had to race the same guy twice because of the chickenshit "buyback" crap. Beat him both times, but I don't agree with Buy-backs.
Super Chevy Sucks IMO. Poorly run, unsportsmanlike conduct from the racers, expensive, and they change the rules on the fly. Two strikes and they're out. I'll stick with the friendly racers at local events with manners and class. I was waiting for the fans to throw cans on the track or other childish behavior.
But the folk I know from our local events who were there made it alot of fun. Without them, I probably would have left after test-n-tune.

Jenibella pardon my ignorance but what is a Super Gas Camaro? I first read it and thought it was a Super Gas NHRA class car. Is it a special trim GM had out?
Pat, that is awful to hear that people could do that to another racer. I know racing can be cut throat sometimes but that certainly sounds uncalled for.

Sorry to hear that Pat, I can't believe some people.
REDGAR, the Z28 was purchased to be run in the NHRA Super Gas class. Jenibella is licensed to drive in ET/Super Gas (7.50 index or slower) class, and since NHRA won't let her run any other class ...
