NMCA Announces LS Stock class...
NMCA posted this:
Similar to NMRA Coyote Stock...
The gist is everyone has the same motor, same tune, and runs at the same weight. It's all about how you tune your chassis and drive it. Also keeps a lid on the expense...but its only a "budget" class relative to other heads-up racing classes.

Well, good job! The wheels turn slowly I guess.
Judging from the way Coyote Stock is going, I *think* its going to be great. They just need to keep it out of the 9s and all should be good.
Its a helluva lot easier to swap in an LS engine than a Coyote engine. Hopefully this will mean a more diverse group of cars, and a bigger turnout. The motor costs a lot more though...so we'll see.

Scoggin-Dickey has announced they will sell the engine for $7899. Still a bit too high. I also don't understand why they didn't use the standard LS3 out of the C6/Camaro. The Coyote is the base 5.0 from Mustang brand rated at 420hp. LS3 is 430.
I just hope they don't shackle these cars with an "automatic transmission only" class rule. That'd be boring as hell.

Rumor has it NMCA is releasing the rules at an LSX event this weekend in Atlanta. Should be posted online shortly from someone. And not going to be auto-only either. Will be a selection of autos and manuals. Probably Tremec stuff though. I don't see NMCA allowing a Jerico or G-Force in the class. I pitched for the Jerico DR4 or G-Force G-101 and mandating clutch assisted and an H-pattern shifter. Racers would still drive them without the clutch pedal but you won't have broken T5s laying all over the track either.

I think they should do whatever it takes to get people to actually build cars for the class. I'll worry about it being boring when cars are actually running down the track.
